Vintage Silver Tea Pots

Scenes from SVT – August 7, 2022

We have a lot to reveal from our studio at Boone Square! First, we had three sets of clients and all designed their own unique vintage look. The first set of guests were designing for an ElopeNC styled shoot around April’s gemstone, the diamond. Using the sparkle from vintage glass plates, clear goblets, and crystal bobeches on glass candleholders, we think their design was “brilliant!”

The second two visitors were couples planning their 2023 weddings. A garden theme with vintage goblets of blue, green, pink, and yellow and dainty vintage plates to coordinate will be so pretty for the first couple’s April wedding. Classic vintage blue and white was exactly what the next couple wanted for their reception tables. Both couples were delighted with their designs and we were, too!.

Now to the studio updates! The vintage silver area needed a bit more organization so we added more teapots to the walls and sorted the trays in drawers. The vintage patina on the creamers, sugar dishes, and teapots add such character and they look lovely filled with florals! The trays seen in the first photo can serve as chargers and appetizer offerings would look mighty special on those larger handled trays. Also, notice in the last photo that we have several ice buckets for chilling wine, juices, and drinks.

The blue hue you see through the front windows are from grow lights that were installed last week. We’ll be adding a few more plants to this area. And, the sign from the previous studio has been cleaned up a bit and is now on display outside our door. Yay!

Lastly, the open wall in the main room has been bedecked with a large mirror and vintage floral gallery. (Darn, we see that the reflection is not exactly want we intended so that needs to be investigated! Hopefully, it’s just the angle in which we took the photo.)

That’s it for our update. A few more projects and we’ll start planning for an open house to be announced in the near future and, you will be invited!

Southern Vintage Table Events – Oh, What an Enchanting Wedding!

Annie and Ben’s wedding was one of our most anticipated weddings this year. Why, you ask? For starters, when Annie visited the studio last October, she was super focused on designing a tablescape that was clean, colorful, and casual. She worked on several looks, changing goblet colors, napkins, and other details until she had what she and Ben wanted for their reception tables.

Secondly, in February Annie contacted us about wanting to learn more about our business and offered her time as an apprentice. By this time, we had decided to move to Boone Square and she was willing to help with packing up, which was an offer we could not refuse! By the time her wedding came, our friendship grew and we couldn’t wait to see Annie’s vision come together.

From our vintage collection, Annie choose our vintage white stoneware plates, colorful stoneware salad plates, and stainless flatware. She also incorporated our vintage pink goblets and vintage mustard napkins on the head table. And, finally the dessert table was adorned with one of our colorful floral tablecloth, and several speciality vases.

Seeing Arika Jordan‘s gallery of their wedding day at Carolina Grove was truly a joy. With all the pieces of the design set in place, the final look was glorious. Annie planned every last detail, from collecting the vases and jars on the guests’ tables and having them filled with colorful florals from Bowerbird Flowers, to designing the table numbers and adorable speciality cocktails named after their cats. The guest table assignments, hanging from a line outside, was such a clever touch, too.

Annie and Ben, what a beautiful, enchanting wedding day. May the years ahead be filled with love, adventure, and fun. And, thank you for such a lovely review!

We could not have had a better experience working with Southern Vintage Table for our spring wedding! Visiting Shelly’s studio to pick out our rentals was one of my favorite parts of our wedding planning process. She has a huge collection of gorgeous inventory, and she was such an excellent resource in helping us come up with the scheme for our table settings. Delivery of the rentals was seamless, and not only did our tables look stunning, but the vintage items added character to the (brand new) venue. Our only regret is not having used more from her collection! – Annie, Wedding Wire Review

Vintage Metal Goblets

Scenes from SVT – July 24, 2022

It’s been a busy two weeks since our last “Scenes from SVT” blog – lots of visitors, table designs, and fun!

We are tackling the decor room with a real purpose. The vintage red tables from The Big Barn at Daniel Boone are headed to Habitat in Hillsborough and being replaced with a new set of metal shelves. With John’s help, they were assembled and the other shelving pieced together. A tall set of shelves were moved from another room, now ready to be filled. The aisles have opened up and will be much easier to navigate.

Vintage Feature – Happy 4th, America

Tomorrow Americans will celebrate the 246th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Towns and homes across the country have donned their banners, flags, and swags in red, white, and blue to recognize the day we mark as America’s birthday.

In recognition of this day of parades, fireworks, and family bbqs, we pulled from our archives images of vintage tableware and decor in red, white, and blue just for you!

RED – RED – RED – RED – RED – RED – RED – RED – RED – RED

WHITE – WHITE – WHITE – WHITE – WHITE – WHITE

BLUE – BLUE – BLUE – BLUE – BLUE – BLUE – BLUE – BLUE

Although perfect for a July 4th celebration, these patriotic colors are quite lovely for any event. Happy 4th, all!

News – New Blog, New Blog Category, New Blogging Schedule !

We are back! It’s been a good break and we feel a bit behind because there are many events and news to share! Today we kick off our new blogging schedule with a fresh category called, “Scenes from SVT”. On these weeks, you’ll see images from behind the scenes, pretty vintage items, or visitors to SVT with limited text. The other weeks will be a longer blog as we will showcase an event, styled shoot, feature, tips, or adventure. (Geez, it’s been a while since we’ve been on an adventure! We’ll have to remedy this asap!)

Today is the debut of “Scenes from SVT“. We think it’s a great beginning!

Our most recent visitors…

A few updated areas at the studio…

Lastly, a few pretties… (Psst – the hydrangeas are from our yard!)

And, a final photo of me with a black eye – when a trumpet falls, it leaves a mark!

Thanks for visiting! We are back on schedule so be on the lookout for our latest Sunday’s post!

Vintage Tins

News – J’adore La Déco Vintage

The floor in the decor room has been cleared! All the boxes and crates have been unpacked and our vintage items are finding their new spot. These shutters have now become our hanging station for anything with a handle. The vintage planters and tins are coexisting on shelves in the hallway in the back.

Are we finished? Not quite – our blackboard signs and easels need their own spot, the linen room tidied up, and the design of the foyer finalized. One thing for sure – we are loving the flow of the space and being part of the Boone Square community!

Vintage Blue and White and Milk Glass

News – Vintage Decor Now On Display

May brings weddings and we are busy with rental orders! This coming weekend our vintage wares are headed to 5 events in 4 different towns – Charlotte, Hillsborough, Mebane, and two in Goldsboro. Thank goodness all but one client is picking up from our new studio space and we are getting everything ready, while continuing our unpacking.

Three vignettes are all decked out with our vintage decor, thanks to Janis and her design skills. The blue/white and milk glass are on on shelves in the decor room. Many crates had to get unpacked and more room is opening up!

The next two displays are in foyer, which is now sporting a new floor. This first area is in the nook between the foyer and decor room. After battling 🙂 with Janis about wanting this to be the book area, she convinced us to tell a story with our unique vintage pieces. We love how some of our blackboard signs from a variety of past events have made it on the wall and that decor is sprinkled in with the books. After looking at this photo, we see that more books need to be pulled and replaced with more cool vintage doodads. You win this one, Janis!

The third vignette is on the wall between the main and linen room. Janis pulled all of these pieces together and the final result is awesome! We both agreed that our petite vintage artwork will look sweet flanked on the sides of this shelf.

Our goals this week are to finish the foyer and add a few shelves to the decor room wall, but our first priority is to get everything ready for our clients’ events and celebrations. Thanks for checking in!
