Southern Vintage Table Event – Our Second Southern Weddings Feature

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

Happy new year everyone!  We decided to start off 2017 with our second feature in the glorious publication, Southern Weddings.  This photo shoot, Greenbrier Getaway,  features the beautiful historical venue in West Virginia, The Greenbrier.  After seeing the photographs from this feature, this venue is definitely on our “must see” destinations.  Jaclyn Journey‘s design and Whitney Neal‘s photographs along with the Southern Wedding’s team produced a photo story you’ll want to see and read!

Southern Vintage Table’s  contribution to the shoot were the mixed and matched plates at the reception table. Don’t they look amazing?  We’ll be sharing these on our social media but there’s so much more to this feature.  Head over to the online article and see some gorgeous floral arrangements, a stunning chandelier, and, of course, the backdrop of the spectacular Greenbrier resort.  Oh yeah, there’s a fun behind-the-scenes video at the end of the article you don’t want to miss and a list of the incredible vendors who put this all together.

Southern Vintage Table Event – “Chapel Charm” Reveal

Today is it! We are revealing some of the photos from a gorgeous feature in this year’s edition of Southern Weddings.  If you recall, a few blog posts ago (SVT Events – We Are Featured in Southern Weddings Magazine-Twice!) we spilled the beans on our inclusion in this lovely publication but we needed to wait a bit before sharing. Well, the wait is over for the first of the two articles, “Southern Weddings V9: Chapel Charm,” with these photos by Landon Jacob Photography.

Our contributions to this shoot were our three vintage punch bowls, an eclectic mix of punch cups, pink enameled baby tub, and milk glass compote.  As you can see, the creative styling talents of Mallory Joyce, the Southern Weddings‘ crew and Landon Jacob Photography shine brilliantly –  the melding of soft pinks and pastels, the floral arrangements by Mallory Joyce, Paisley & Jade‘s vintage furniture, and other assorted details, all set at historical The Parlour at Manns Chapel.

If you have the magazine, jump to page 89 to see the full spread with a listing of the participating sponsors and vendors at the end of the article. You can also enjoy this feature on Southern Weddings’ website, Southern Weddings V9: Chapel Charm, and the back story about this photo shoot at Southern Weddings 9: Behind the Scenes of Chapel Charm!

Southern Vintage Table Event – Styling Beautiful Table Settings at TSOS

Photo by Ally and Bobby Photography

This summer I received a marvelous invitation from Kelly Hovis, Brand Relations Manager of The School of Styling. She asked us if we wanted to help with an October TSOS workshop at The Parlour at Manns Chapel in Chapel Hill, NC.  During one of their sessions, she explained, the attendees would be learning creative ways to style a table setting and she thought our rich collection of vintage wares would perfect to offer them. If you are familiar with this creative business, you’d understand that this was an invitation we couldn’t refuse!

So the attendees would have a wide selection of vintage looks. we pulled together a variety of dinner, salad, and dessert plates along with our clear and colored glassware. In addition, settings from our silver-plate and stainless flatware were packed up and delivered. With the eclectic collection of wares, we eagerly waited to see the creative place settings the attendees would design. Please enjoy these photos by Ally & Bobby Photography. As you can see for yourself, we are quite impressed with their handiwork!

Southern Vintage Table Event – Alex & Caroline’s Fall Wedding

All year we have been excited about Alex & Caroline’s wedding! You see, the minute I met this delightful couple, it was obvious they were so perfectly matched. Their thoughtful plans were filled with freshness and originality and when they described their vision for their fall wedding featuring our vintage 70s stoneware patterns, we were truly thrilled. In addition to the mixed and matched vintage stoneware, their plan included our vintage green and amber goblets, stainless flatware, serving dishes, vases, and crocheted overlays. We couldn’t wait to see the final results!

With a morning wedding ceremony at the Haw River banks near Chatham Mills in Pittsboro, followed by a reception breakfast, everything about this day was organically beautiful. The details were creatively captured in the photographs below by Live View Studios and we know you will love them!

Shelly at Southern Vintage Table was a delight to work with! Our reception turned out like a vision thanks to the fun vintage tableware and accessories. Everyone was asking where we rented the mismatched stoneware plates and amber and green goblets. She was very responsive, creative, and detailed oriented. Highly recommend this vendor!

Southern Vintage Table Event – Setting Cheerful Thanksgiving Tables

Southern Vintage Table

Preparations for the Bass family reunion began Wednesday with Christine’s daughters preparing the Masonic Lodge in Rolesville for our annual Thanksgiving feast. This year our centerpiece design included simple greenery and vines from our yards, white pillar candles and gold votives, and painted pinecones. With colorful printed napkins, mixed and matched vintage white stoneware patterns, and our brilliant vintage goblets. the cheerful tables were ready for our 60+ family members and friends.

Our Thanksgiving family tradition began in the 1960s by our grandparents and parents and has continued every year since. We all look forward to this day when family means parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, daughters, sons, grandchildren, friends, and neighbors. With four generations represented in the Bass lineage, tomorrow’s coveted day certainly will be filled with fun, love, laughter, and delicious food. More photos will be added to this post when they come in – we’ll keep you posted via our Facebook page!

Our mantra for the upcoming week, from 50 Inspiration Quotes, is:
Don’t call it a dream; call it a plan.

We are very happy to show off more professional photos this week! These are from Chris and Kristen’s August wedding, captured by Casey Rose Photography, at the historic venue in Raleigh, All Saints Chapel.

Many pieces from Southern Vintage Table’s dessert collection were on display at this lovely wedding reception. Our vintage cake stands and tiered stand showcased the sumptuous cake and cupcakes created by Edible Art of Raleigh. All lined up at the candy station, stacked and filled with sweet delectables, was an array of our stands as well as our vintage candy jars and scoops. With Knots ‘N Such designer Amy Wurster’s creative touch, it all looked wonderful!

Vintage Feature – Vintage Bobèche Bling Bling

Bobeche

We learned a new word this week – bobèche.  It’s such an elegant sounding word – pronounced as bō-ˈbāsh – and it’s something you’ve probably seen but didn’t know that it had such a cool name.  So, what is a (now practice saying it) bobèche?

A bobèche is the collar placed under a candle or light and adorned with crystals and pretty do-dads. The collars might be made from plastic, glass, or metal. Fun, huh?  They make any brass, pewter, silver, and glass candle holder look so glam!

Vintage Candle Holders with Bobeches

After experimenting with our collection of bobèches, we are itching to try out a few ideas. We’re not ready to share them just yet except to say we’ve seen some pretty crystals that match the colors of our vintage jewel-toned goblets. Oops, we probably said too much.   In the meantime, after this tumultuous week, this empowering quote has given me new purpose.

Thinking will not overcome fear but action will.
W. Clement Stone

Wishing you all a terrific week.

Southern Vintage Table Events – We Are Featured in Southern Weddings Magazine – Twice!

Southern Weddings Magazine

We are SO excited and maybe even a little giddy!! This past spring we were invited to share some of our vintage treasures for two different features in this year’s Southern Weddings V9 magazine. For one shoot we supplied our three vintage punch bowls, punch cups, a pink enameled tub, and a milk glass compote. The second shoot we happily provided some of our most favorite patterns from our vintage dinnerware collection. That was May and we’ve been counting the months since.

November is here and we got word that the Southern Weddings V9 magazine was ready! We received a sneak preview of this beautiful publication and eagerly looked for our lovelies. We found our punch bowls and such in a gorgeous feature called “Chapel Charm” and then our china in the elegant “Greenbriar Getaway” article.  How thrilling to see how our pieces were incorporated into these two creative styled shoots and to find our name – Southern Vintage Table – in the vendor listing. Whoop, whoop!!

The official launch is this Thursday, November 10, so you’ll need to wait just a wee bit to get your copy of Southern Weddings V9 and for us to reveal more from these two articles. We soooo look forward to sharing them with you!

Southern Vintage Table Events – Love, Love, Boho Love

This may be the easiest blog post to write because we are going to point you to a beautiful blog post on Knotsvilla featuring a September photoshoot at the 1870 Farm in Chapel Hill, spearheaded by the talented Kelsea Merchant of HoneyBee Mine Events. The photos you’ll see were taken by Danielle Smith of DHS Photography and they are mesmerizing!

Before you head there, we first must share how much fun we had helping with this shoot!  Collaborating with Kelsea, we explored several different looks before settling on the bold, retro place settings, bright hand-crafted runner, and table decor. After the table was set, those glorious flower bouquets by Art of Motion Events were placed and their vintage furniture arranged, the fab Boho cake from Artylicious Cakes positioned on our vintage suitcases, Sugar Euphoria‘s delicious macaroons stacked, the adorable Lil Photo Bus parked, and, with the models groomed in their smashing attire, everything was set for Rebecca and Danielle to capture the day. Needless to say, in spite of the rainy weather (or perhaps because of it!), we loved working with this team of professionals!
