Southern Vintage Table Event – Lauren & Justin’s Pastoral Wedding

Serene, natural, and enchanting – adjectives that describe Lauren and Justin’s wedding at Rougemont’s Sassafras Fork Farm. One month ago, these two pledged their forevers to one another and these photos by Kelley Deal Photography perfectly capture their beautiful day. With permission we have grabbed a few from her blog and you’ll want to see all of them; we promise!

Lauren and Justin chose our vintage white stoneware for their place settings. Mixed-and-matched salad plates and vintage clear goblets were splendid complements to their natural wood decor and farm-fresh flowers. We love how the napkins with a sprig of greenery were placed to complete each setting!

Best wishes to you two, Lauren & Justin, and we are so appreciative that you selected our vintage pieces for your wedding celebration! Also, thank you, Kelly, for sharing these wonderful photographs!

Southern Vintage Table Event – Styled Shoots with Taylor’d Southern Events

Earlier this spring we received the most interesting invitation to join a group of local vendors for a photo shoot at The Parlour at Mann’s Chapel. The intriguing part was that the owner of Taylor’d Southern Events was flying in from LA and her associate was driving up from Florida because they loved the charm of The Parlour. In addition, a group of photographers would be taking photos that would be shared with all the vendors. What a wonderful opportunity for us!

So Lauren and Taylor met at our studio and selected the table settings as well as the details that complemented their design. We loved helping them find their inspiration pieces and couldn’t wait to see the photos. They are starting to come in and today’s photographer is Casie Weather’s Photography. We love them!

More coming soon! We also participated in a shoot two days later with Taylor’d Southern Events at the McAlister-Leftwich House in Greensboro. These should be on their way, too!

Vintage News – A Graduation, Tea Party, & Wedding Reception

It’s another fun week ahead for us! Each of our three events next weekend have a unique story and we are pleased to share our vintage wares to each.

Four years ago, our client rented several of our vintage floral tablecloths to celebrate her daughter’s high school graduation. This week, her daughter is graduating from nursing school and she’s invited family and friends to honor this wonderful accomplishment. Again, the floral tablecloths will don her guest tables, along with our vintage glass dinner and dessert plates. So pretty!

Alexa and Alicia, our tea party clients, are hosting their first event for their community organization, The Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties. The Mother’s Day Tea will be held at Hill House, a beautiful, historic home in Durham and we know it’s going to be a huge success! We all are excited to see this day come!

Final details were being made last September for Cherry and Ned’s wedding but then came an unexpected guest, Hurricane Florence. They may have missed their original date but their nuptials will be this Saturday at this gorgeous venue, The Parlour at Manns Chapel. We are certain the wait is going to be sooo worth it!

So, that’s our week ahead! From Durham to Chapel Hill to Pittsboro, we know our our vintage treasures will be enjoyed and appreciated!

Vintage News – Move Update and This Week’s Events

Quick update on our move – we are fully in our new space at 222E Orange Grove Street, Hillsborough! The reason why we haven’t shared the full tour is that we have a short task list to complete in between meeting with clients and preparing for events. We hope you love what you see as much as we do! More to come soon.

Now for our busy week ahead – 3 weddings and a tea party! Our four clients all love vintage and each has chosen their own unique look. Here’s what is headed out our studio this weekend.

Our first wedding is at White Lake. Our bride adores pink and has asked that each of the 325 dinner plates feature this romantic color. Yep, we’ll be heading east Friday with 16 filled crates of beautiful vintage plates with pink!

Angus Barn is the venue for the second wedding. Our bride wanted to pick up the blue and white decor in her centerpieces at each guest’s place setting. These vintage blue and white bread plates should be the perfect complement!

Wedding number three will be at Sassafras Fork Farm in Rougemont. To harmonize with this outdoor rustic space, our bride selected our white vintage stoneware and clear goblets. The crisp white will look fabulous against this natural setting.

Our final event is a vintage tea party. Our client chose our Tea Party Package for 24 and we couldn’t be more pleased. The favorite part for us is selecting our favorite teacups – not an easy task since we love so many!

As always, thanks for checking in with us! In between selecting, washing, packing, and delivering, we’ll be working on that to-do list. Have a glorious week!

Our 2019 wedding season opened with the wedding of Kirstin and Glenn at the historic Pittsboro venue, Forest Hall at Chatham Mills. When viewing these romantic photos from Magnolia Photography, we instantly felt the happiness and joy of spring, perfect for their wedding day.

From our collection, the couple chose our vintage goblets in light blue, pink, purple, and turquoise – hues of a gorgeous spring day. The tables light up with their colors and help radiate the anticipation of Kirstin and Glenn’s exciting new life together.

Southern Vintage Table Event – Rolesville’s Chamber Goes Mardi Gras!

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

What occurs every March, brings folks from the community together, and is always delightful? Yep, you are correct! It’s the annual Rolesville’s Chamber of Commerce Awards and Recognition Dinner!

We love helping with this grand affair for so many reasons. One reason is these business leaders are incredibly gracious and, second, they really enjoy creating a fun, unique celebration for their members. This year’s theme, Mardi Gras, cleverly fit their mantra for the year, “Unmasking the Power of Community.” How cool is that?

The table design was created by members of the chamber, led by Executive Director Rachel Morris, and we happily helped them execute their flawless plan. The final result was colorful, fun, and inviting – a wonderful fit for the exceptional leaders of the Rolesville community!

Thank you, Rolesville COC, for inviting us again to help with this festive affair! It’s always a pleasure!

Southern Vintage Table Event – A “Fascinator” Vintage Tea Party!

Fascinators

Bridal tea parties are wonderful celebrations but when custom-made fascinators are added, an incredible experience is awaiting your guests! Hosts Anita and Bev planned this shower for their nephew’s fiancé, Cambridge, and we were very pleased to provide the vintage table settings and serving pieces. Aren’t their tables beautiful?

Now for the fascinators (btw-a new word in our vocabulary!)

Upon our delivery the day before, Anita showed us her amazing creations. Each custom-made fascinator was beautifully crafted and more fabulous than the next. For most of them, she used headbands as the base and then embellished with feathers, tulle, ribbons, flowers, and even vintage family lapel pins. Of course, their guests loved seeing them all on display and then getting to choose their own!

Cambridge tea party

Thanks so much, Anita and Bev, for inviting us to help with this lovely and happy affair! We are so intrigued by these cheery headdresses, we may try our hand at fashioning one or two for ourselves!

PS – Photos were shared by guests to an iCloud album and Bev shared them with us. What an ingenious way to capture an event from everyone’s perspective!

Vintage Feature – Two Weeks In, Two Weeks to Go

This week we’ve been emptying shelves, disassembling shelves, moving shelves, re-assembling shelves, and finally, filling shelves. (Thank you, Priscilla!) We love these shelves because they are heavy-duty and easily to re-configure, but they also are very heavy and sometimes difficult to assemble. But, with the help of Aud and Sean, they are in and ready for their vintage inventory!

Looking forward to filling these shelves and sharing our progress next week!

Vintage Feature – The Launching of “Today’s Pretty Thing”

First, a move update! Stacking, packing, curating, and even breaking 🙁 describe the week as we began our move to the new location. Progress has been made with the generous help of Rowena, Priscilla, Jami, Louise, Jeff, and Aud, but there’s much much more to be done. Enthusiasm is still high even with sore muscles and a few new aches.

But, this week’s blog will be kicking off a new social media feature, “Today’s Pretty Thing.” When friends and former co-workers Judy and Sherry came to visit our shop before we started to dismantle, Judy admired a pretty piece of china and had a terrific idea for us! She suggested that we regularly feature pretty vintage pieces on our social media. Needless to say, we thought this was a brilliant idea! We’ll be posting these on Instagram and Facebook during the week and we’ve got a lot of pretty things to share!

So here’s our first “Today’s Pretty Thing.” It’s a chocolate pot, a tall and slender vessel with a spout close to the top, used to serve hot chocolate. The gold trim, hand painted crown of florals in pinks and blues, and styled handle make this a gorgeous and useful serving piece.

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

The mark on the bottom says Nippon, the Japanese word for Japan, which dates it from 1881 to 1921. If you’d like to learn more about the history of hot chocolate and chocolate pots, read this Jane Austin’s blog, “Hot Chocolate, 18th-19th Century Style.”

Be on the lookout for “Today’s Pretty Thing” on our Instagram and Facebook accounts.

Hope you have a great week! You know what we’ll be doing!
