Southern Vintage Table Event – Styled Shoot at The McAlister-Leftwich House

The photos are in from Pipers Photography! This gallery features the styled shoot at The McAlister-Leftwich House in Greensboro. If you recall in a previous post, Styled Shoots with Taylor’d Southern Events, our vintage treasures were featured in a shoot at The Parlour at Manns Chapel as well as one at The McAlister-Leftwich House in the same week. These two classic historical buildings are ideal backdrops for so many lovely photographs.

At The McAlister-Leftwich House, Lauren and Taylor from Taylor’d Southern Events created beautiful place settings with our gold rimmed plates, pink champagne and clear goblets, and silver-plated flatware. Scattered about the venue were some of our vintage decor items, such as brass candleholders and vases as seen in these photos. We appreciate the beauty of Pipers images and think you will, too!

Southern Vintage Table Event – Beauteous Butterfly Styled Shoot at the Museum of Life & Science

Hillary of Sincerely Weddings Event Planning had a vision – she wanted to assemble a group of talented vendors for a styled shoot at the Butterfly House at the Museum of Life and Science. This nontraditional venue is ideal for couples who love science and nature, and want a memorable wedding experience for themselves and their guests. As you will see from the marvelous images captured by September Photos , a wedding here can be pretty spectacular!

To prepare for the styled shoot, Hillary came to our studio and selected the vintage tableware for the reception. The vintage blue and white dinnerware with vintage amber goblets always make a statement and her design was impeccable! The bride’s bouquet, styled by Sweets and Stems, as well as the floral touch on the gorgeous cake by Rachel Bailey Cake Artist, incorporated the blue, white, and amber theme. Even the speciality drink served by Barbox carried this theme so deliciously!

Thank you, Hillary, for gathering us together for this stunning styled shoot! We all loved the final results and so did the butterflies!

Southern Vintage Table Event – Styled Shoots with Taylor’d Southern Events

Earlier this spring we received the most interesting invitation to join a group of local vendors for a photo shoot at The Parlour at Mann’s Chapel. The intriguing part was that the owner of Taylor’d Southern Events was flying in from LA and her associate was driving up from Florida because they loved the charm of The Parlour. In addition, a group of photographers would be taking photos that would be shared with all the vendors. What a wonderful opportunity for us!

So Lauren and Taylor met at our studio and selected the table settings as well as the details that complemented their design. We loved helping them find their inspiration pieces and couldn’t wait to see the photos. They are starting to come in and today’s photographer is Casie Weather’s Photography. We love them!

More coming soon! We also participated in a shoot two days later with Taylor’d Southern Events at the McAlister-Leftwich House in Greensboro. These should be on their way, too!

Southern Vintage Table Event – A “Fascinator” Vintage Tea Party!

Fascinators

Bridal tea parties are wonderful celebrations but when custom-made fascinators are added, an incredible experience is awaiting your guests! Hosts Anita and Bev planned this shower for their nephew’s fiancé, Cambridge, and we were very pleased to provide the vintage table settings and serving pieces. Aren’t their tables beautiful?

Now for the fascinators (btw-a new word in our vocabulary!)

Upon our delivery the day before, Anita showed us her amazing creations. Each custom-made fascinator was beautifully crafted and more fabulous than the next. For most of them, she used headbands as the base and then embellished with feathers, tulle, ribbons, flowers, and even vintage family lapel pins. Of course, their guests loved seeing them all on display and then getting to choose their own!

Cambridge tea party

Thanks so much, Anita and Bev, for inviting us to help with this lovely and happy affair! We are so intrigued by these cheery headdresses, we may try our hand at fashioning one or two for ourselves!

PS – Photos were shared by guests to an iCloud album and Bev shared them with us. What an ingenious way to capture an event from everyone’s perspective!

Vintage Feature – Two Weeks In, Two Weeks to Go

This week we’ve been emptying shelves, disassembling shelves, moving shelves, re-assembling shelves, and finally, filling shelves. (Thank you, Priscilla!) We love these shelves because they are heavy-duty and easily to re-configure, but they also are very heavy and sometimes difficult to assemble. But, with the help of Aud and Sean, they are in and ready for their vintage inventory!

Looking forward to filling these shelves and sharing our progress next week!

Southern Vintage Table Events – Luncheons & Dinner Parties, Vintage Style!

Today’s post was inspired by this beautiful photo, shared by a client who hosted a sparkling wine tasting party this week for her wine club. Her 11 guests loved her tables and, of course, thoroughly enjoyed the evening, tasting 10 varieties of Champagnes and sparkling wines. Who wouldn’t, right?

Whether it’s at your home, in the office meeting room, or at an event space, we can help you design a memorable experience for the special folks in your life. Need a little inspiration? Southern Vintage Table Events – Meredith & Jessie’s Vintage Wedding at Forest Hall

Forest Hall at Chatham Mills was the setting for Meredith and Jessie’s wondrous wedding nuptials. As shown in this gorgeous photo gallery by the talented Morgan Caddell, this celebration was chic, vibrant, and oh-so romantic!

We first met Meredith and Jessie at an open house held at an incredible historic venue in Pittsboro, Forest Hall at Chatham Mills. They wanted lots of color, bold patterns, and charm for their guests’ tables and we knew our inventory would be a terrific fit. After a first visit at the studio, we set the date and agreed to meet closer to the wedding date so they could personally select their items.

With a cadre of support from sister Claire and mother Pam, Meredith and Jessie arrived the week before the wedding. Together we organized the dish racks by table with a mix of bold vintage patterned dinner plates and coordinating goblets were packed in crates. For the dessert table, a collection of tea cups in blue & white, red & white, and floral patterns were chosen. Vintage dessert plates, napkins, flatware, and decanters for water completed their order.

We love the variety of vintage place settings Meredith and Jessie selected and Morgan photographed!

With sincerest gratitude, we are so honored to have played a part in this happy occasion. Cheers to you, Meredith and Jessie! Sending you best wishes for a joyful, loving, and fun life together!

I can’t express how happy I am that we rented our tableware from Southern Vintage Table!!! The mismatched china, colored glasses, decanters, etc. really elevated the over all feel of our wedding and was a perfect representation of our eclectic personalities. Shelly was such a pleasure to work with and really made us feel confident in our choices! Photos courtesy of Morgan Caddell Photography.

An October lakeside evening in NC may be the most perfect setting for a wedding celebration. As shown through these divine photos taken by the talented Ashley Steffens, we definitely agree! Ashli and Matt’s beautifully styled vintage boho wedding was held at the Sunset Lake Lodge in Holly Springs guided by the expertise of wedding planner, Emily Katherine Events.  We are so excited to share these with our readers!

We joyfully provided many elements for this vintage boho gala. Vintage dinner plates, jewel-toned goblets, silver-plate flatware, and several of the crocheted overlays. Our charming vintage dresser mirrors framed the gorgeous florals of Springwell Garden.

New Year, New Goals

It’s time to set new goals for 2019! We have 3 this year and here they are:

Goal 1: Move to a new location!

Our lease is up in March so it’s time to relocate to a place of our own. Sharing a unit for the past two years has helped build our confidence but we are ready to go solo! With several options on the table, we should have our new space selected in a few weeks.

Goal 2: Create a weekly to-do list.

When you own your business and do it all, it can be difficult to manage every aspect. For instance, there’s the physical part – inventory to maintain, orders to filled by selecting, packing, and washing and then washing and putting everything away. There’s delivery/pickup and cleaning tasks. The other arena of work includes answering and sending emails, paying bills, maintaining the website, posting on social media, writing a weekly post, and researching new inventory. So, with all of these different tasks to manage, we want to create a weekly to-do list that addresses both the immediate needs as well as maintenance requirements. Whew.

Goal 3: Set a monthly thrift store budget. Gulp.

This will undoubtedly be a toughie! We love to pop in thrift stores to browse the latest inventory and even though we occasionally have walked in and walked out, most of the time we leave with something. Vintage shopping overlaps business and pleasure but we need to set a limit. What that limit is has yet to be determined. 🙂

See how excited I am – it’s my first time in this store!

That’s it! Moving, writing to-do lists, and limiting thrift shopping. We can do it!
