Wonder why so many couples wish to get married in the fall? The tribe of loved ones under this glorious tree in early November reveals one reason – nature’s beautiful fall colors provide an amazing backdrop for this very special day!
The site of this sweet wedding was Highrock Farms in Oxford, NC. This was our first visit to this farm venue and we were captivated by the open fields, historic barns, and the rustic, homey reception hall. Being our first visit to this lovely place, we archived these photos of the front gate and reception building for this blog post. The awesome opening photo of the bridal party and reception photos are courtesy of Holly Kearney Photography.
Caroline adores vintage as much as we do and she envisioned her reception tables with a lovely mix of vintage china patterns, vintage colored goblets, and vintage flatware. We distinctly remember the day she and her mother visited the studio. When the final design came together, Caroline radiated pure joy. We all knew this was going to be a magical day for everyone.
These two photos were shared with us by Caroline’s mother, Jennifer, on the day of the wedding. She knew wewould be excited to see them after the tables were set!
Bravo, Caroline and Van! Your wedding day beautifully reflected your exuberance, happiness, and love. We were truly honored to help with this happy occasion. Best wishes to you and your family!
We absolutely adore our vintage-loving clients! And, when they share their cherished photos with us, we are over-the-moon with appreciation! Our mailbox has been overflowing with images from the fall season and with so many choices, our wonderful dilemma was selecting which one to feature today. Our solution was simple – share a photo from each one! We are still waiting for a few more galleries but, in the meantime, here is a glimpse of four fall weddings.

What was the most popular rental? Our vintage colored goblets! One wedding rented a mix of light blue and light green, one was all about amber, and the other two went for a colorful array. Our vintage dinner plates were also quite popular and three of the weddings chose three different collections – white/cream with a gold rim, bold retro, and a mix of blue/white and florals.
We can’t resist sharing one more photo from each! Come back to see future blogs featuring more of these lovely vintage weddings.

New mom or bride – celebrating these life-changing events with the important women in our lives is a beloved time-honored tradition. Showering the new mom or bride with attention and gifts while serving yummy refreshments is why we love these parties.
Hosting a shower tea party is so much fun! With the pretty vintage teacups, teapots, and serving pieces, the shower is instantly elegant. Today’s photos come courtesy of two clients who would agree!
The first event was a tea party baby shower, held in New Bern at the new mom’s home. This buffet table is gorgeous and the array of teacups is so pretty!
Christine honored her daughter with a bridal shower, held in Winston Salem at her home. Note that tables were set with the vintage tea place settings The romantic touches with the tea place settings beautifully suit this sweet occasion.
Thanks for sharing these photos with us, Lynn and Christine. Baby or bride, a tea party shower is a wonderful way to celebrate these beautiful moments. (BTW, both clients picked up and returned the rentals from our studio. This option is also available to you.)
A new venue is in town and we’ve got the scoop! We were introduced to Union Grove Farm through our clients, Jamie and Shawn, whose gorgeous wedding embraced this outdoor bonanza of beauty and that’s not all! Set in this lovely landscape, the spacious inside of the barn is filled with natural light. Thanks to these photos by Cirque91, you’ll see what we mean!
The windows, hanging lights, and plank flooring created an alluring atmosphere for Jamie and Shawn’s wedding reception. Southern Vintage Table provided table settings that included a mix of vintage blue and clear goblets, vintage white stoneware plates, and vintage stainless flatware. We also furnished an assortment of clear bottles and vintage vases for their centerpieces. With the blue cloths and pink napkins, these sweet tables were ready for their family and friends.
Thanks, Jamie and Shawn, along with Hayley and Hannah of An Event to Remember for giving us the opportunity to be a part of this joyful wedding day. Wishing you everything happy and wonderful!
Shelly was AMAZING to work with! I set up a meeting where she helped guide me in various options for tabletop items and then let me play around to find the perfect combination. I loved that I was able to use vintage mismatched plates, silverware, and beautiful blue and clear glass goblets for my wedding. It was stunning! I also loved that I could support a small local business. Would 10/10 highly recommend!
We distinctly recall this day – it was one of our first glorious September days in North Carolina and it was Katherine and Colby’s wedding day. After several reschedules in 2020 through 2021 due to health safety concerns, outdoor gatherings started opening up. And, if we might speculate, this absolutely perfect day was meant to be for them and their guests.
Our contributions to their tables were our beautiful light blue vintage goblets which adorned each place setting. The color of the sky and sea, light blue signifies trust, loyalty, and sincerety and they sparkle with joy down the tables. As you can see in the details shot below, we also provided our vintage blue and white dessert plates.
Held at the amazing historic Parlour at Manns Chapel with their lush landscape of flowers and greenery, Radian Photography‘s images capture their story. We mostlyhave included those that feature our pieces, but trust us, the gallery is as glorious as the day.
A beautiful day, venue, and couple. Thank you, Katherine and Colby, for allowing us to be a part of this long-overdue celebration!

I wanted to share these images with you from my bridal shower. Thanks to you, it was beyond beautiful!! – Dana
Yes, indeed, pouring tea, eating a medley of sweet and savory, and chatting with best friends before your wedding day has to be on the list of meaningful ways to celebrate your upcoming nuptials. These photos come courtesy of Dana, the bride-to-be, who was so pleased when she arrived at her mother’s home. Her mother, Andrea, knew Dana would love this experience so she visited the studio to pull together these lovely, vintage tea party pieces.
Dana, we think it’s beautiful, too! Bravo, Andrea!
See ya’ll this weekend when we deliver and set your beautiful vintage reception tables. Sooooo looking forward to it!
You are planning a wedding, dinner party, birthday celebration, cocktail party, or baby shower and looking for something unique, fun, and eco-friendly. You kinda know what you want but need to see how it will actually look. This is where we come in!
We love sharing our inventory and ideas but, more importantly, we totally dig the part where we help YOU create YOUR vintage look. It might be elegant or boho, blue & white or white, amber goblets or clear – whatever it is, it will be the design you love. Ready to know more?
It all begins with an email, a completed form from the contact page, a phone call, or an inquiry through Wedding Wire or The Knot. From there, we gather information regarding the date, guest size, and venue to make sure we are available for you. If everything is open, we can continue through email or setup an appointment at the studio. Of course, we love to have visitors at the studio! Here’s what you can expect to see…
When you open the front door, you’ll walk into the first door to Southern Vintage Table’s studio. Immediately you will be amazed by an unbelievable display of colorful vintage goblets, clear goblets, and glass dishes. One wall is filled with vintage dinner plates – white stoneware, blue & white, red & white, and elegant pink florals. Sometimes overlooked are the rows of vintage pitchers and decanters on the top shelves. Our vintage flatware – silver-plate, stainless, and gold – are in bins, including serving pieces such as tongs, salad servers, cake servers, and punch bowl ladles.
Our vintage retro, stoneware, and gold & white dinner plate collection is on shelves in the next room. You’ll also find blue & white, white, and floral salad/dessert plates along with an amazing display of teapots, teacups, and tiered stands. In the second photo you can see the shelves filled with blue & white pots, vases, candleholders, ginger jars, and umbrella stands. So much to see!
Connecting to this room are shelves of vintage serving dishes, cake stands, milk glass vases as well as silver-plated teapots, sugar & creamers. We also have wood serving pieces such as bowls, trays, and cake stands.
The back room is stocked with, well, everything else – vintage candleholders, brass planters, suitcases, cameras, clocks, silver-plate pieces, linens, and so much more. This space is filled with inspiration!
After a quick tour of the rooms, we’ll set the stage for your tablescape by covering either the round or rectangular table with linen color of your choice. The magic then begins! You select the vintage plates, goblets, flatware, whatever, and begin designing the table. If interested, you can add the vintage decor such as candleholders, votives, and vasesl. We even have faux flowers to fill the vases so you can see how the complete table will look!
Once your vision materializes and you are nothing but thrilled, we’ll make note of the pieces you’ve selected and discuss any other details pertinent to the event. Through email, we’ll email a rental proposal and contract for your approval. When everything is just as you wish, you’ll send a signed contract and a nonrefundable deposit to hold the pieces for your date. We even have 3 ways to pay – check, PenPal, and Venmo.
Closer to the date, the rental order is reviewed and revised as needed, the balance submitted, and then your vintage party package can either be delivered or picked up.
Retro and Boho is ready for customers! Priscilla and I have been back and forth to Melville Trading Post all week with vintage and handcrafted items, labeling them with tags and finding that perfect place for them on the shelves and walls. To our delight we had sold several items on Wednesday! Whoo hoo1
This is a classic vintage look with different shapes and sizes of tarnished silver-plate trays. You can take one, a row, or all and the best part is they all are ready to hang! Even Martha Stewart would approve!
We love the atmosphere at Melville, the eclectic mix of inventory, and the folks that stroll through looking for something a bit different from what you might find at a retail store. This has become a happy place for us and we hope you’ll stop by soon!
We had a great surprise in our email yesterday – the photo gallery from an Elope NC styled shoot that was only 2 days ago! Now that’s an amazing turnaround from Wendy Jade Photography!
The venue for the shoot was The Old Cotton Gin, a charming historic venue in Warrenton. The property includes three structures – The Old Cotton Gin, The Seed House, and The Franklin Street House. Be sure to check out this unique venue!
Organized by ElopeNC and planned by Meagan of Magnolia Collective, this styled shoot was fresh look on the classic red, white, and blue theme. Shown below are a few photos, with a focus on our vintage contributions, to give you a taste of what the day was like. We plan to followup on a few more next week!
