Open House at Southern Vintage Table Inside View

Southern Vintage Table Events – Our Open House Preview!

Well… that was even better than we dared hope.

Our open house was nothing short of delightful—full rooms, happy chatter, and amazing energy. We’re still smiling. Today we’re sharing a few photos from the day, We had the pleasure of meeting Brighid, our photographer (Oz Images Photography), for the very first time that evening—and what a joy she was. Easygoing, delightful, and somehow managing to capture it all while we carried on, she felt like an old friend by the end of the night.

A heartfelt thank you to Katie and April of Beau Catering for the truly scrumptious bites and sips (guests are still talking about them), our dear Yaya friends (two out of five shown below) for graciously guiding everyone through the studio, and sister Sharon’s expert event advice for the flow design which worked so well! Nicholas and Roxanne set the tone with lovely background music that felt just right.

And the flowers—oh, the flowers. Jami worked her magic and the arrangements were simply stunning, adding that perfect finishing touch to every corner. (Note my best “calm, collected, and definitely not panicking on the inside” pose as guests started arriving. Haha!)

More is on their way. And stay tuned… we’ll soon reveal the winner of our “Where in the World” game.

What a joy it was to welcome you all in.

Scenes from SVT – A Joyful Visit with Josie & Her Mother: Designing a May Wedding Tablescape

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Josie and her mother to the SVT studio to design the tablescape for Josie and Tyler’s upcoming May wedding—and what a delight it was. From the moment they arrived, the room was filled with easy conversation and genuine excitement for the celebration ahead.

Josie was an absolute joy, fully embracing the creative process and savoring every detail. Her vintage vision was vibrant yet thoughtful, bringing together a beautiful mix of vintage purple, light brown, green, and amber goblets that added warmth and personality to the table. The combination felt joyful and intentional—perfect for a spring wedding.

The vintage plate selections were delightfully eclectic, featuring several two-toned patterns in green and white, pink and white, purple and white, and brown and white. The mix created visual interest while still feeling cohesive and timeless. To soften the look, two vintage pink-hued floral patterns were added, bringing in a romantic, garden-inspired touch that tied everything together beautifully.

Design days like this remind us why we love what we do. Watching a couple’s vision come to life—especially when shared with family—feels like a true honor. We cannot wait to see Josie and Tyler begin their married life this May, gathered around a table that tells their story so well.

News – Snow Day, Southern Style!

When snow falls in our part of North Carolina, it’s a big deal. Just turn on the local news and you’ll see wall-to-wall coverage—meteorologists in high gear, reporters posted everywhere, and cancellations rolling in by the minute. So we decided it felt only right to take a snow day of our own.

Instead of our usual weekly blog, we’re sharing a little winter wonderland: snowy snapshots from around our place, along with photos friends and family have kindly sent our way. It looks like the snow may linger for a bit, especially with that sneaky layer of ice still underneath from last weekend’s storm.

And then there are the mystery tracks winding through the property… we’re equal parts curious and delighted. Any guesses who paid us a visit? 🐾

Sometimes the best plan is to pause, look around, and enjoy the rare beauty of a Southern snow day. Be sure to have the sound up to hear the soothing sound of the water.

P.S. Even on a snow day, we can’t help but sprinkle in a touch of vintage. This deep red creamer and sugar set felt especially fitting against the winter white—classic, cozy, and just a bit festive. Paired with a beautiful cardinal (courtesy of a little AI magic), it’s our reminder that a pop of color and a nod to tradition make even the coldest days feel warm. (Thank you Sharon, Cis, Jami, Louise, Mary, Pat, and Priscilla for your snowy photos!)

News – Getting Ready for Our March 19th Open House

Green Goblets at Wedding Reception

There’s a special kind of energy that comes with planning an open house—the good kind. The kind that reminds you why you started in the first place. As March 19 approaches, we’re happily knee-deep in ideas, meetings, and creative sparks, and it finally feels real: our first open house is truly taking shape.

We’ve already met with Beau Catering, our copilot in this endeavor, and it’s been a joy dreaming alongside a team that understands how food, drink, and atmosphere work together to create an experience. Beau Catering will be providing light bites, a refreshing mocktail, and water for guests—thoughtful touches that will keep everyone mingling comfortably as the evening unfolds.

We’ve also been fortunate to collaborate with Sarah, who will be instrumental in designing the layout of the space. Her eye for flow and detail will help ensure the evening feels welcoming, intuitive, and just the right amount of magical. And because we love a good community moment, we invited Nicholas—the talented “guitar guy” in our building—to join us for a joint open house. It feels perfectly fitting to share the evening with a creative neighbor and give guests even more to discover.

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

One of the things we’re most excited about is the interactive component. Guests will have the opportunity to create their own place setting using gathered vintage china, flatware, napkins, and adornments. It’s hands-on, playful, and a lovely way to experience how mixing patterns and textures can feel both personal and timeless. We’re also planning a lighthearted game—Name That China Company—where guests can match cards to china patterns. A little friendly competition never hurt anyone, especially when vintage patterns are involved.

Florals will be lovingly handled by our friend Jami, whose touch always brings life and softness to a space. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, my focus has been on gathering photos from past events to display in the main area, pulling together a mailing list of invitees, and creating the Evite that will officially spread the word.

There’s still more planning ahead—there always is—but we’re well on our way, and it feels incredibly good to say that. This open house is already shaping up to be a celebration of community, creativity, and the beauty of gathering around a table. We can’t wait to welcome you into the studio and share what we’ve been building, one place setting at a time.

Vintage Valentines Card

Feature – From Sweethearts to Besties: A Vintage Valentine’s Guide

Vintage makes every kind of love feel a little more meaningful—and a lot more fun. Here are Valentine’s, Galentine’s, and Guyentine’s ideas with charming old-school twists that feel thoughtful, not fussy.

Elegantly Classic Vintage Place Setting

❤️ Valentine’s — Old-Fashioned Romance

  • Sweetheart Supper, 1940s Style
Cream plates with gold rims, linen napkins, and handwritten place cards. One flower per plate—simple, proper, irresistible.
  • “Just Desserts” Date Night
Serve three small desserts on mismatched vintage plates. Bonus points for a shared cake stand and real forks (no plastic love here).
  • Love Letters & Lockets
Exchange handwritten notes tucked beneath salad plates or inside a small envelope at each setting.
  • Blush, Burgundy & Brass
Layer soft pink china with brass candlesticks and vintage glassware for a table that whispers romance instead of shouting it.

💕 Galentine’s — Vintage Fun with Flair

  • Tea Party with a Twist
Mismatched teacups, tiered trays, scones… and a splash of bubbly in the cups because we’re grown now.
  • Color-Pop Tablescape
Everyone gets a different vintage plate pattern. The table looks collected, not coordinated—and that’s the magic.
  • Handwritten Notes Only
No phones, just fountain pens, notecards, and sweet (or funny) notes written to one another during dessert.
  • Grandmother’s China, Modern Menu
Serve charcuterie, pastries, or takeout on fine china. Fancy plates, casual food = instant charm.

💙 Guyentine’s — Classic, Comfortable, Cool

  • Steakhouse at Home
Heavy vintage stoneware, cloth napkins, and old-school glassware. Simple, sturdy, and surprisingly handsome.
  • Retro Game Night
Cards, dominoes, or chess paired with vintage snack plates and proper cocktail glasses.
  • Old Hollywood Movie Night
Think black-and-white films, popcorn in vintage bowls, and drinks served in etched glasses.
  • No-Frills, Well-Set Table
Neutral plates, ironstone, or mid-century pieces prove vintage doesn’t have to mean delicate.

Vintage has a way of slowing things down—in the best possible way. Whether it’s romance, friendship, or good company, a table set with history always makes the moment feel worth savoring. Contact us if you’d like to add a little vintage to your love celebration!

Vintage Wildflower Stoneware Tablescape

Scenes from SVT – A Classic Fall Table with a Fresh Twist

Hannah and Bobby visited the studio last month to plan their fall wedding, and from the moment they began, we were struck by the mutual respect and ease they share while working together. Their collaboration was thoughtful and unhurried, setting the stage for a table design that felt both meaningful and welcoming.

For their all-season celebration, they selected brown and yellow wildflower stoneware, choosing two complementary designs that balance warmth and charm. Gold vintage goblets were paired with the brown stoneware, while green vintage goblets added a fresh note to the yellow wildflowers. A unique detail ties both designs together: vintage gold and cream plates layered between the wildflower stoneware at every table.

They finished the look with our cool vintage stainless steel flatware—clean, classic, and effortlessly timeless. Altogether, the tables promise a relaxed yet polished feel, perfectly suited for a fall wedding and a couple who clearly enjoys creating side by side.

Vintage Bridal Shower Rentals

Scenes from SVT – A Lovely Bridal Shower in the Making

This past week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Diane and her daughter Hannah to the studio as they planned a special bridal shower for a dear friend. Together, they browsed through our vintage collections with both care and excitement, envisioning the celebration to come.

After looking over several options, Diane and Hannah delighted in selecting our pink floral plates paired with matching pink gobletsvintage pink luncheon napkins, and elegant vintage champagne coupes to toast the bride-to-be—a combination that’s as charming as it is timeless. The pairing perfectly reflects the joyful, feminine spirit of a bridal shower, and they couldn’t have been more pleased with their choices.

As we talked through the details, their enthusiasm was contagious. They shared how meaningful it was to create such a memorable setting for their friend, and their vision instantly came to life with the vintage china, glassware, and linens they chose.

To complete the table and dessert display, they also chose three beautiful vintage pink floral platters, a pink cake stand, and a pink footed stand —the perfect touches to serve sweet treats in style. The pairing perfectly reflects the joyful, feminine spirit of a bridal shower, and they couldn’t have been more pleased with their choices.

We can already imagine the tables brimming with beauty this November when their guests gather to honor the bride-to-be. It will be a celebration filled with love, laughter, and vintage charm—exactly the kind of occasion our collections are meant to elevate.

Southern Vintage Table Events – Margot & Evan’s Romantic Spring Wedding at the Honeysuckle Tea House

On a sunlit spring day at the enchanting Honeysuckle Tea House, Margot and Evan celebrated their wedding with a tablescape that perfectly captured their romantic vision. Their design combined vintage charm with soft, graceful details, creating an atmosphere both welcoming and timeless. Guided by planner, Events by Rebs, with exquisite florals by Fireside Farm, and gorgeous photographs captured by Amy Ellis Photography, you can see that this wedding was truly special.

The tables featured a sweet pairing of vintage gold and cream plates adorned with delicate pink florals. At each place setting, vintage glass salad plates caught the light and shimmered over the dinner plates, adding a touch of sparkle. Pink goblets brought a gentle blush to the table, complemented by silverplate flatware. Brass candleholders, topped with light blue candles, cast a soft glow as the day turned to evening.

Thoughtful décor completed the look — table numbers nestled in vintage frames, while other frames displayed the guest lists and personal photographs, adding an intimate and personal touch. Bread baskets offered a rustic element, and the dessert table showcased our vintage cake stands and tiered stands, beautifully displaying their sweet treats.

Margot and Evan’s celebration was a lovely blend of spring romance, vintage elegance, and personal storytelling — a day as charming as the couple themselves.
