Southern Vintage Table Events – Something Blue Wedding Shower

We had the extreme pleasure to help Kortney with a wedding shower she hosted for her sister-in-law, Autumn and beau, Elisha. To say that Kortney is a talented designer states the obvious and we’ve seen her marvelous design skills on another occasion – her own Baby Reveal Party held in 2020. She’s a natural!

This shower revolves around the color blue for a couple of reasons – to honor the adage “something blue” and blue is the color Elisha sees best. With vintage blue and white dishes, blue goblets, blue and white teacups, and two tiered stands the table looks spectacular. Kortney filled the vintage silver teapot and milk glass vases with stunning bouquets, and filled our blue and white heart dishes with her speciality sugar cubes. How adorable!

Congratulations, Autumn and Elisha! We truly enjoyed viewing the photos shared by Kortney – they beautifully portray your love and joyfulness!

Southern Vintage Table Events – A Wedding at Two Silos

We all enjoy a sweet love story and today’s couple, Savannah and Sam, especially embody this sentiment. The two come from farming families in eastern NC and grew up on opposite ends of the same road.

Early on they became friends, dated in middle school, and then as high school seniors. Several years later, with their lasting love, they married at Sam’s property that had two silos on the former dairy farm, once owned by another family. After a year of restoration, the wedding site was ready.

The reception was held under a tent at the farm. Our vintage colored goblets and floral plates “tied it all together, ” remarked Savannah. We are so pleased to have provided these for their celebration.

Well done, Savannah and Sam! Your gallery of beautiful photos was so fun to browse and we almost feel like we were there, celebrating along with you and your many friends and family members. Best wishes for a wonderful life together!

News – A Trip to the Mountains

Our blog is on vacation but we have one breathtaking photo from Jump Off Rock in Laurel Park, just outside of Hendersonville. Our son took us there at sunset and we stood there for a while, taking in its natural beauty.

This spot is a popular place for visitors. According to Romantic Asheville, the story behind the name goes like this.

It’s certainly a romantic view, complete with a tragic legend of a young Cherokee Indian maiden receiving word that her young Indian chief had been killed in battle. So she climbed to the edge of the rock and jumped off. On moonlit nights you can supposedly see her ghost on rock.

We have more places to visit, including hitting as many ice cream parlors as we can on The Hendersonville Ice Cream Trail. So far we have enjoyed delicious scoops from 4 of the 11 featured in a recent Our State Magazine. With only two more days, we’re pretty sure we won’t get to all of the remaining seven but we’ll give it our best! So far, Celtic Creamery is at the top of the list!

Southern Vintage Table Event – A Family Reunion-Gundie Style

It happens every 3 years – The Gunderson + Spencer Family Reunion. The call went out to grandparents, sisters, brothers, children, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and more. Organizers Mary and Ralph hosted family members from ages 2 to 87, and they came from 7 states plus Malaysia, with a total of 37 adults and 6 children.

The weekend of family time kicked off at the White House on Washington in Mebane. Mary chose vintage blue and white china and light blue goblets for the tables along with grass chargers. She filled complementary blue and white vases with bright yellow florals and the delicious dinner meal was catered by Southern Harvest. It was a grand success!

Saturday was full of choices for the group. Swimming, golf, and sight-seeing were enjoyed with the evening spent at Mary and Ralph’s home. Following a cookout, the crowd was entertained by family band members with dancing and more time to reconnect!

Bravo, Gundersons and Stewarts! Many wonderful memories were created this weekend and we applaud the commitment your extended family has made to spending quality time together.

Southern Vintage Table Events – A Glorious Day for Cortney and Christian

On this perfect June day, Cortney and Cameron were wed under the trees at Oxford’s Highrock Farm with family and friends present. Every facet of Cortney and Cameron’s wedding was breathtaking – the scenic view, the gorgeous venue, and beautiful vintage blue tablescapes. These exquisite photos by Madison Snedker Photography tell it all!

Cortney’s vintage design included vintage gold and white plates paired with soft blue china patterns. She mixed the vintage dusky and light blue goblets and added vintage gold flatware and the table numbers in vintage frames. We love how the vintage blue goblets twinkle on the tables!

Cortney and Cameron, your wedding was spectacular! We loved working with you and appreciated your kindness and joyful spirits. Best wishes for a loving life together!

Southern Vintage Table Events – An Exquisite Vintage Blue and Pink Wedding

The dusky blue and pink theme of Kaitlyn and Mark’s vintage wedding was exquisite. Coordinating a wedding with these two colors turned out to be dramatic, eye-catching, and oh-so romantic. Thank you, Brittany Cruse, for your amazing photographs!

Kaitlyn and Mark’s wedding was quite special, not only because it’s beautifully designed, but because the touches of North Carolina in the centerpieces memorialize Kaitlyn’s dear mother. Kaitlyn wanted to remember her mother’s love of teaching, especially the history of her home state. From the mountains to the sea, there are pinecones, seashells, wooden pedestals, greenery, flowers, and endearing photos of Kaitlyn and Mark.

Added to the tablescapes were touches of vintage brass vases, goblets, and cricket boxes along with stacked vintage books, decoupaged shells, and mini artwork. J’adore! These charming centerpieces were packed with sweet meanings and beauty.

Notice how the pink goblets were paired with the pink dinner plates, dusky blue with the blue plates, and contrasting salads on each. The eclectic, vintage, and sophisticated place settings were stunning.

Bravo, Kaitlyn and Mark! It was our extreme pleasure to be a part of your wedding day and wish everything wonderful in your lives together!

When Kaitlin came to the studio to design her reception tables, we were all excited about the meaningful touches that were added to the centerpieces. Many thanks to Priscilla, Kaitlyn’s friend and mine, who had a hand in this charming mix.

Southern Vintage Table Events – A Magical Bundle is on the Way!

Yes, it’s indeed a magical moment – celebrating the arrival of a new baby with a vintage tea party!

Harry Potter is a favorite of the mom-to-be and thus – poof! – it came to be. With tea and treats, under the enchantment of Harry Potter magic, this mom-to-be was honored by family and friends.

Given this wonderful theme, vintage teacups and teapots featuring gold, white, and green were selected. Two glass tiered stands and special Harry Potter plates held the tasty treats. We heard it was lovely, fun, and charmed with love. Best wishes!

Southern Vintage Table Events – Tea Guests at the Mitford Museum

As promised, here are some photos taken at the third annual Spring Tea at the Mitford Museum held in Hudson, NC in honor of the book series written by native Jan Karon, seen in the photo above with her niece. Avid fans from far and wide attended this 140 seat event.

Guests, young and old, men and women, thoroughly enjoyed that May 18, 2024 afternoon sipping their tea with Jan and kindred fans. Along with hot tea, tasty tea treats were provided by Bluebird Custom Bakes in Hudson and Katz Catering in Lenoir. These lovely photographs were taken by Sminton Photography.

Honeysuckle Tea House Vintage Tablescape with Props

Styled Shoot – Welcome to Camp Honeysuckle

A styled shoot is the ultimate fling for folks in the event business – the theme can be anything, vendors open up their offerings and skills, whether it’s inventory, photographic skills, food, florals, music, drinks, and yes, even cigars, and a true collaboration begins. We usually participate in a couple each year and the one featured today was truly one of our favorites. Camp Honeysuckle at The Honeysuckle Tea House included all of the elements that make a camp experience fun!

Events by Rebs visited the studio and together we designed 3 different vintage tablescapes – pink, yellow, and green/blue to coordinate with three of our vintage kitchen tablecloths. They included retro bold vintage plates, napkins and rings, flatware, and tumblers. New to our offerings are the woven placemats. Sprinkled around the shoot were many of our vintage props – on the tables, at the welcome and photo backdrop, and on the food table. The final look is so campy and Amy Ellis Photography captured it all for us!

Scenes from SVT – Our Clients Adore Vintage!

It’s true! Our visitors are kindred spirits when it come to appreciating the beautify of vintage tableware and everything else. Some have shared that they feel at home amongst all of our treasures. Their enthusiasm for our collections makes our hearts sing!

Today we’d like to introduce you to a delightful cadre of visitors and their creative vintage tablescapes. First up is Allie and Cameron – these two sweethearts who met in 4th grade are getting ready for their November wedding. They didn’t date until after college, but their shared childhood memories played an important role in their finding each other again.

This mother/daughters’ meeting was really fun! Although deliberation is continuing, Camille is considering different vintage colored-themed tables for her July wedding. Her sister Renee also started looking at possibilities for her September wedding. It’s going to be a busy few months for this family!

Cleveland and Lauren are making final plans for their November wedding. With her mother’s help, their design includes florals, colored goblets, and possibly peg votives on brass candleholders. We truly enjoyed meeting these folks!

We are so excited about Helen and Christian’s wedding scheduled for next year. Helen’s mother has a unique collection of vintage kitchen tablecloths that will be used as toppers for the tables. Here are three examples – mostly purples/pinks, blues/pinks, and yellow/greens. This is going to be totally fun!

Macie and Byron’s wedding is coming up this September. It’s an intimate affair with lots of color and special touches. They will be using colored Whitehall glasses paired with a colored wine glass. Initially, they set the table with two looks – one side with browns and the other with white stoneware. The final decision is to use vintage white stoneware with the colored pair of vintage goblets. It’s going to be a treat for their guests!

We’ve had the immense pleasure to meet Rebecca who owns Events by Rebs. Vivacious, super friendly, and full of energy, she planned a styled shoot at The Honeysuckle Teahouse using our vintage wares. We chose vintage kitchen tablecloths, a mix of complementary plates, napkins, tumblers, flatware, and natural chargers. Vintage suitcases, lanterns, and an assortment of other vintage decor also went out the door for this special shoot.

Six visitors with their own vintage flair and all personal to them. Looking forward to helping you with your wedding and seeing photos from the Rebs’ photo shoot!
