Vintage Feature – It’s Blog Break Month!

We won’t be publishing our Sunday blog post during July but we have much to do. The list is a bit tedious –sigh- but nonetheless; it will feel good to mark them off the list, especially the first two.

!.  Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork. Oh boy, the pile is deep and we need to get our orders and contracts organized in our notebook.

2. Update spreadsheets. Business goals need to be evaluated and expenses organized. Yay!

3. Curate inventory. After spending this past year in our studio space, we now have a better notion of items that clients want for their event. This task will be hard for a different reason – we love everything and hate to let anything go. We hope it won’t be too traumatic!

So, that’s the July to-do list. Look for our next post on August 5th. We still will be serving clients and taking studio appointments so don’t hesitate to give us a call or send an email! We’ll love to hear from you!

Southern Vintage Table Event – Beautiful Vintage Blue

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

As this week’s mailbox confirmed, one of our most popular rentals at Southern Vintage Table is our vintage blue goblets . Two of our clients shared photos from their blue-themed weddings; one was held indoors and the other was an outdoor celebration with the color blue taking center stage.

The first set of photos are from a March wedding at The Barn of Chapel Hill, shared by F8 Photo Studios. We love how our vintage blue glassware “pops” on Rochelle and Chris’ reception tables, designed by Kast Events & Company. And that photo from above of the single table? Wow.

Our second blue wedding was held in Whitsett at the Timberlake Earth Sanctuary, a unique outdoor venue “dedicated to honoring and protecting Mother Earth and all beings.”  Emma and Jonathan designed their place settings with our classic vintage blue & white china, blue goblets, and stainless flatware. As you can see from Photography by Kelsey Rae‘s photos, this wedding seemed right at home with its serene surroundings.

Love blue as much as we do?  Our vintage offerings may be exactly what you want for your next celebration!

Vintage Feature – The Magic of Mixing and Matching China Patterns

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

What a wonderful, busy week! We’ve helped with three weddings – a rehearsal dinner at Stoneleigh Estate in Virginia, a reception at Windy Hill Farm in Cedar Grove, and a reception at Snipes Farm in Chapel Hill. We look forward to sharing a few photos from each of these in the near future but today we want to share five different place settings created for Lindsey and Brad’s reception tables.

This couple wanted a vintage salad and dinner plate for each guest. When preparing for an order that includes this pairing, we first select a mix of vintage dinner plates. One by one, each dinner plate is matched with a salad plate with a complementary pattern. The results of this “labor of love” are mixed and matched, beautiful, unique place settings for each guest!

Southern Vintage Table Event – A Bridal Shower, Wedding Reception, & Tea Party

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

After a two-weddings’ weekend, this weekend’s events were a little-bit-of-this and a little-bit-of-that – a bridal shower, a wedding reception, and a tea party! As you might guess, it was busy, busy in the studio – washing the dishes from last weekend and then preparing for the three events and their pickups. Thankfully, Priscilla came over and helped get things organized and ready.

The stainless vintage flatware seen above was for Emma and Jonathan’s wedding reception. Don’t you love the variety and details? These went with our blue and white china, light blue goblets and a few milk glass accents. Looking forward to seeing these photos!

The second event was a dinner party/bridal shower. Susan chose our vintage elegant china dinner plates eclectically matched with salad plates, a mix of teal, amber, and pink goblets, and vintage silver-plate flatware. With an Italian feast on the menu, the guests are being treated to a grand party!

The third event is happening today – a mother-daughter tea party for almost 200 guests at the Mims House. With our vintage teapots, teacups, and tiered stands, this fundraiser affair is sure to be a crowd pleaser. The proceeds are going to help a group of talented dancers from the Holly Springs Ballet School participate in the Macy’s Christmas Parade. We hope they get closer to their goal after this weekend!

Sharing our vintage treasures is such a joy for us and we love seeing photos and hearing about all the details. Let us help you with your next party, dinner, reception, or gathering!

Southern Vintage Table Event – A Beautiful Day at Fletcher Park

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

Today’s post is this. That’s right; this one photo from an absolutely gorgeous wedding that took place yesterday at Fletcher Park in Raleigh. Are you familiar with the the saying, “there’s so much to do and so little time.”  Bingo.

There is time, however, to thank three amazing friends – Priscilla, Pat, and Jami. Their help, support, and laughter created so many memories it will take days to totally unpack them.

Also, thank you, Sam, for your help loading up at the end of a long day. That clock is ticking and we have to get to the studio, unload dishes, and get that dishwasher humming. More photos will be forthcoming and we will be so excited to see and share them!

Vintage Feature – Behind the Scenes at Southern Vintage Table

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

When renting our vintage wares, you can be assured that we want you to have the very best experience. Each and every client is valued and appreciated, and we truly love sharing our collections! So, how does it all happen once an order is placed? Today we are taking you behind-the-scenes to show you how it’s done!

This upcoming weekend we are providing place settings for 175 guests at Katie and Evan’s wedding in Raleigh. We are packing dinner, salad, and dessert plates along with flatware, goblets, and napkins. Yep, it’s huge and thus, our packing schedule began a week ago.

We started with the vintage goblets. Crates were filled with green, amber, teal, pink, and blue goblets then run through our commercial dishwasher. Once dried, they were labeled, wrapped in plastic, and stacked on a dolly. That’s 7 crates, stacked up, and yep, it’s taller than me!

Next up, the flatware settings. Inside these bins are 175 silver-plated knives, dinner forks, salad forks, spoons, and dessert forks. Believe me, these babies are heavy!

Dessert plates came next. Racks were filled with a good mix of vintage patterns, then washed, labeled, wrapped, and stacked.

Meanwhile, vintage white/cream napkins were selected and ironed at home. We only have 75 more to go!

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

The final packing job is the mixing and matching of the vintage dinner and salad plates. Using a kitchen cart, we rolled down the dinner plate aisle and filled a crate with a 20 vintage plates in a variety of floral patterns. Then we rolled back to our worktable filled with salad plates. One by one we matched a dinner plate with a salad plate. The filled crates then went through the dishwasher and were labeled, wrapped, and placed on a cart. At the time of this post, we have only two more dinner/salad crates of 20 left to do!

Once we finish packing the two sets of plates and ironing the remaining napkins, we’ll be ready for Saturday’s wedding. Priscilla, Jami, and Pat will join me to set beautiful, vintage place settings on rustic farm tables. Can’t wait to see how it all turns out!
