Vintage Amber Goblets

Southern Vintage Table Event – Declaring Golden Love

For some couples, much-anticipated nuptials just can’t wait. Postponing their family and friends’ celebration until next year, Tina and Zack wanted to get married on their original wedding day. With planning help from Stephanie Milosh of Beauty and the Budget Events, the couple stylishly eloped in their back yard with their parents in attendance. Emily of Windsor Grey Photography beautifully documented this lovely day.

Our contribution, albeit small, were the glistering golden vintage goblets on the dinner table. They are fabulously festive and we hope they helped make this elopement even more memorable.

Best wishes to you two! We are certain your friends and family look forward to celebrating with you in 2021!

Southern Vintage Table Events – Blueberry Styled-Shoot, Part 2

Blueberries abound with the continuation of the lovely photos provided by Autumn Harrison Photography from the Blueberry Styled-Shoot organized and designed by EKEvents and Windy Hill Farm. Last week we focused on the vintage dinner table and today it’s everywhere else our vintage wares were used! We will begin with the vintage sweetheart table bedecked with the over-the-top gorgeous florals by Rabbit Foot Floral!

The Sweetheart Table

The Dessert Table

The dessert table may be our favorite element of this shoot because it features our original wooden boxes fashioned from the blades of vintage ceiling fans. We originally envisioned these placed down a dining table and filled with florals; however, putting them on their side and tucking Royal Cheesecakes & Varieties mini cheesecakes inside is even more wonderful. And, let’s not forget to mention that amazing cheesecake wedding cake! (RCV saved those mini cheesecakes for the vendors and they were so so yummy!)

The Bar

Most guests love visiting the bar at a wedding and this one would not disappoint! Upstairs over the barn’s main dining area, this fun space is cozy and bright. With Rabbitfoot Florals and our vintage vases, wooden candleholders, and stoneware pitchers, Emily Ruth Prints.’ sweet bar menu is the perfect final touch. Of course, those cold, colorful drinks prepared by On the Rocks Bartending, would quench anyone’s thirst!

Other Details

Lastly, details are always key to any shoot! The stationery by Emily Ruth Prints is so artistically beautiful, they definitely would be the perfect keepsake. Also, please note the adorable little decoupaged covered rocks. These are ours, made especially for this shoot.

Windy Hill is first a farm, then a venue and, on most rural farms, folks hang their clothes and linens outside on a line to capture the fresh, natural aromas. This final shot of the couple at the clothesline is authentically romantic!

Thank you again, Emily and Chiara, for inviting Southern Vintage Table to your shoot! If you missed last week’s post showcasing the dinner table and meal, here’s the link. Stay safe and eat blueberries!

Southern Vintage Table Events – Blueberry Styled-Shoot, Part 1

It’s blueberry season and this styled-shoot, designed by Emily of EKE Events and Chiara of Windy Hill Farm, was a winner from the very start. Who doesn’t love blueberries – the fresh taste, the gorgeous blue color, and the nutrient-richness – all captured in one little fruit. This inspirational theme had lots of places to be creative and, when you see these glorious photos by Autumn Harrison Photography, you will agree!

Emily and Chiara, along with this talented group of vendors, all brought their blueberry-ness to Windy Hill Farm. Since there’s much to share -the main reception table, dessert table, sweetheart table, bar, & assorted details – we want you to slowly savor all of this loveliness! So, today’s blog is Part 1 and next week we’ll followup with Part 2.

Today, we are focusing on the main reception table. To coordinate with the blueberry theme, the table was set with our vintage blue and white plates, dusky blue goblets, silverware, and napkins. Also on the table are our vintage milk glass candleholders and wooden pedestal candle holders. Finally, did you notice those darling little egg cups that were filled with Windy Hill’s freshly picked blueberries? 🙂

As always, an essential touch to any tablescape is the florals and Rabbit Foot Floral‘s arrangements are magnificently crafted in her vintage vessels. In Post 2, you’ll see more of her floral talents on display. The final table detail is the delightful blueberry menu cards by Emily Ruth Prints. More of her stationery suite will be forthcoming.

This shoot was distinctive in many ways and one was that an actual meal was served, family style! Prepared by Cyril of Harvest’s Table, this meal was both delicious and beautifully presented. One extra treat was that the vendors were invited to enjoy this meal afterwards. (The mac and cheese and cornbread were oh-sooo good and the salad had fresh, edible flowers!)

Thank you, Emily and Chiara, for inviting Southern Vintage Table to your shoot! Next Sunday we’ll feature even more creative spins on blueberries including the sweetheart table, dessert table, bar, and other spaces. Stay safe and eat blueberries!

“Forget who you are and why you’re here-all that foolishness. In the woods the bushes are full of blueberries; go and pick some.”

Southern Vintage Table Events – A Peek of a Vintage Summer Styled-Shoot

Oh my! When we were invited by Colleen Winstead of @lilyandvinephotoco to provide the table settings for this shoot at @cedargroveacres we were elated! Yellow is our favorite color so using our vintage yellow stoneware patterns along with vintage amber goblets was the dream palette for us! Today we are sharing a few of the sneak peek photos Colleen sent us and, based on these beauties, we can’t wait to see more!

The first layer of the table setup were the linens. On the main table, we used a vintage kitchen cloth with yellow flowers. Doesn’t it look amazing? As noted, the table was set with vintage stoneware, amber goblets, stainless flatware, and amber napkins. For decor, our vintage wooden candleholders with amber peg votives and white tapers added a rich, natural touch.

We absolutely loved how the vintage chunky wooden candelabra looked in the center along with the gorgeous florals by @brandisbotanicals . (By the way, we have two of these candelabras and a round one in this style –perfect for a natural, Boho vibe!)

The sweetheart table was truly sweet with the vintage lace overlays, florals, and wooden accents. We adored the small amber vases with feather bouquets!

And, now that cake – what a stunner! This sweet creation by @love_cakenc was amazingly gorgeous and also delicious!

This is all we can share on this post – more lovely photos will be forthcoming! It was delightful spending time at this charming farm venue in Creedmoor and meeting all of the talented folks gathered together for the shoot. Well done, Colleen!

Southern Vintage Table Events – Grandmother Showers are Trending, or Should Be!

Becoming a grandparent is an exciting, wonderful life-changing event! For those of you who have experienced this second wave of babies to dote on. it’s almost indescribable how much love this moment brings. This quote from Lesley Sthal, however, beautifully captures this intense emotion.

“I was trying to understand my grandmother feelings. Why, when I looked at and held the baby, I felt I was floating, that I was on a high…. I keep wanting to burst into song!
So I wasn’t crazy, & I wasn’t alone. When a grandmother holds the baby, her brain, like a new mother’s, can also be drenched in the bonding hormone oxytocin.
Aha! There it was. We grandmas literally, actually fall in love.”
― Lesley Stahl, Becoming Grandma: The Joys and Science of the New Grandparenting

So, there it is. Grandparents experience a chemically-induced falling-in-love euphoria. The sheer happiness of grandmotherhood is definitely a moment your dear friends want to celebrate with you, and for Jami, her friends hosted a grandmother shower with the sweetest theme – favorite children books paired with a delicious dish. See how cute these look! (Thank you, Mary!)

Jami’s first grandchild will be a boy, hence the blue. (We know colors are gender-less but sometimes you have to go with tradition, right?) We safely held our soiree outside at Gold Park in Hillsborough under the shelters, setting each table with our party essentials – gifts, food, and place settings. The simple place settings included vintage stoneware, blue goblets, and a lovely embroidered napkin. Fernrock Farm‘s fresh florals were arranged in six mason jars adorned with a “It’s a boy” ribbon for each of us to take home.

Friends celebrating with friends is always a treat and we all enjoyed ooh-ing and aah-ing over each and every book, truck, and baby accessory. These gifts will reside at the new grandparents’ home, waiting to delight the baby with his grans.

The ultimate decision – your Grandmother name!

“When it was finally my turn, I felt I was growing a whole new chamber in my heart. I nearly swooned, staring at the baby like a lover. I’d never seen anything so delicate and beautiful, so sweet, every feature perfect.”
― Lesley Stahl, Becoming Grandma: The Joys and Science of the New Grandparenting

It’s your turn, Jami, and we are sooooo happy for you!

Southern Vintage Table Event – A Baby-Reveal Party

It’s a first for SVT! We had the pleasure of helping Kortney and Tyler with their baby-reveal party for their families. What a joyous occasion!

Kortney provided these lovely photos with us and we’d like to share her sweet, soft design. Her blue napkins and pink tablecloths were the perfect first layer to the tablescape. The tables were then set in blues and pinks with our vintage plates, goblets, and flatware. And, when the flowers were added, the tables were so pretty!

Every detail was carefully planned by Kortney. First, the florals by Village Gallery Florist in Roxboro were truly gorgeous in the soft pinks, blues, and ivory flowers. We adore the card as seen above and below with “Ten little fingers, ten little toes, two little eyes, one little nose. Boy or girl, nobody knows.” The anticipation for the reveal begins to build as the guests are seated!

Note the beautiful embroidered hankie that was given to each family. This keepsake was created by Specialty Designs of Roxboro. One delicious detail is the macaron nestled in the basket at the top of the plate, baked by Cuisine Lucette of Hillsborough. The buffet-style meal was provided by The Village Diner, also from Hillsborough, a favorite restaurant of the couple. Oh yea, let’s not forget the “Oh Baby” Balloon sign – so cute!

Oh Baby Balloon Sign

Congratulations, Kortney and Tyler! We were delighted to be a part of your charming reveal party – such a memorable gathering of family and friends, celebrating the upcoming arrival a baby. And, for folks who weren’t there, their baby boy will be here this fall!

Southern Vintage Table Event – Blue Themed Styled Shoot

Stephanie Batten Photography shared photos this week which brought us such happiness! This photo shoot took place right before the stay-at-home decree began and, although we couldn’t attend, our vintage tableware made its way to the Parlour at Manns Chapel for this lovely blue shoot.

There are so many details we simply love – the different hues of candle tapers and napkins, the layered blue and white place settings, and the greenery running down that gorgeous runner. And, of course, with the setting at this historic venue, our vintage ware was perfectly at home!

Photographers were invited to attend and today’s blog features those taken by Stephanie Batten, who was both the event planner and photographer for the event. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did!

Southern Vintage Table Events – Alisa & Colin’s Enchanting Blue Wedding

A rustic country venue, beautiful vintage place settings, and an oh-so-in-love couple were the exact recipe for this enchanting wedding. Alisa and Colin were married last August at the Barn at Valhalla and we are thrilled to share these lovely photos by both Emily Michelle Photography and wedding planner, Rachel Berglund.

This incredible cake perched on our vintage cake stand makes a stunning statement. And, to further impress, Colin is the confectionary artist!! Impressive, right?
