Southern Vintage Table Events – Two Weddings & A Tea Party

We have been busy, busy, busy this week getting ready for 3 events next weekend and, of course, we are excited about each one! One wedding embraces an elegant style; the other features our casual collection. And, a set of uniquely different tea sets will be gracing the tables at Sunday’s tea party.

This is what is so cool about vintage tableware – the styles, colors, patterns, composition, and textures can vary dramatically. Whether it’s retro, rustic, boho, casual, elegant, shabby chic, farmhouse, or eclectic, vintage is versatile and distinctive.

Next weekend we will be sharing the depth and breadth of vintage style and this definitely, without a doubt, makes us smile! (Oh my, I’m a poet …)

Yay! We have more wedding photos to share today! Courtesy of Theo Milo Photography, today’s post features these exquisite photos from Melanie and Holden’s July wedding at Rigmor House in Chapel Hill. This rural rustic venue was a terrific match for our vintage ware and the couple’s whimsical, romantic theme.

As guests entered the reception area they were greeted with this fabulous display. Using the window frames as a backdrop for the dessert table was an ingenious design and we absolutely loved how it put the spotlight on their gorgeous wedding cake created by Irregardless Cafe. Don’t you agree that our vintage garden cart, filled with favors for the wedding guests, is just the perfect final touch?

Inside the venue the reception tables were set with a mixed medley of our vintage china patterns. We really enjoyed seeing them with our sparkling, vibrant goblets and Melanie’s colorful floral napkins. The rich blend of patterns, hues, and textures created a lovely, organic, and romantic vibe.

Melanie and Holden, it was our extreme pleasure helping you with this most important day. We loved working with you, and your graceful, beautiful spirit will long be remembered. Congratulations and wishing you love, joy, and endless bliss together.

She remained very flexible and patient with me (I changed my mind several times about what to order!). The vintage dishes and decor looked amazing at our reception! Southern Vintage Table Event – The Grace of a Vintage Teacup

Photos are coming in from this year’s wedding receptions and we are so pleased to share them with you! Today’s post features table settings from Sara and Brook’s April wedding at Fearrington Farms in Pittsboro, captured by Krsytal Kast Photography.

Sara and Brook choose a mix of our vintage blue & white plates along with a variety of floral patterns. The little gem on the tables were our vintage mixed and matched teacups. Don’t you love how these were gracefully styled at each place setting? We certainly do!

Southern Vintage Table Event – Three Terrific Takeaways from Rose Hill Styled Shoot

Recently I received the most exciting invitation! Stacy Newburg, event planner and owner of Events by Memory Lane, was organizing her first styled shoot and asked if we would like to participate. Recalling our wonderful collaboration at Anna & Anthony’s wedding last summer, I said “yes!” and that was even before she revealed her blue & white vintage Southern elegant theme, a look I absolutely love.

After selecting the vintage table settings, linens, and decor pieces together one afternoon, Stacy then invited me to help on the day of the shoot. Intrigued to see the behind-the-scenes of a photo shoot, I just couldn’t pass this up. Even though we have provided items for many styled shoots and have appreciated the beautiful photographs from them, I haven’t actually seen the entire process at work and this was my chance!

Well, let me say, the day of the styled shoot was busy, busy, busy, and pretty darn awesome! The weather was gorgeous at this breathtaking historic venue, the vendors organized, models dressed and styled, and photographers on the go. Stacy planned everything, from the table settings to the boutonnieres to the enthusiastic and beautiful models. Breakfast and lunch were served, and a detailed plan set for all to follow. It was quite impressive to see the day play out.

Here are three takeaways from this marvelous day!

One – It requires a lot of coordination to pull off a styled shoot. As you can appreciate below, a full lineup of vendors is needed to create a mockup wedding day. Many, many kudos to Stacy for selecting such a terrific group of wedding professionals, and for her passion and joy.

Two – It’s all in the details. The teamwork of Stacy and Tiffany was phenomenal. When the professional photos are ready, you’ll see exactly what I mean!

Three – Being a professional photographer takes technical skill, an artistic eye, and endless energy. As I watched Tiffany and Aaron throughout the day, they were busy practically the entire time, taking photos of every tiny detail, encouraging and prompting the models on every shot, and making absolutely certain they captured that perfect photo. Although I have long appreciated the fine work of professional photographers, seeing these two in action took my admiration to an even higher level.

Southern Vintage Table Event – Vibrant, Vivid, & Vintage Dinner Party

We totally love setting the tables for big family events like weddings and family reunions, but we are also absolutely delighted to help with intimate celebrations. These smaller gatherings allow us the opportunity to showcase some of our speciality china and decor collections. And, this past weekend we were so pleased to set the table for a festive dinner party.

Our client was hosting a wine and dinner party featuring Spanish wines and dishes. Her vision included vivid spring colors of pinks and greens and we knew our lovely hand-painted pieces from Blue Ridge Pottery and Stetson China would be the perfect fit. Paired with our vintage printed tablecloth, these bold, vibrant patterns from the 1940s-1960s set the perfect mood for her guests. Our table creation was vibrant and stunning, ready for a fun evening with delicious food and Spanish wine tastings!

Southern Vintage Table Event – A Babies’ Shower!

Delicious food, pretty decorations, fun games, colorfully wrapped gifts, and two beautiful pregnant cousins – yep, it’s a babies’ shower! This past weekend the Heath women and friends all gathered at Tonya’s lovely home to celebrate the upcoming arrival of two babies – Allison & Steven’s baby boy in May and Sarah & Alex’s little girl in June . How wonderful!

With theme colors of teal, pink, and gray, the banners were hung, tulips arranged in vintage white stoneware pitchers, mixed and matched vintage gray & white dishes stacked, and drinks chilled in our sweet pink enameled baby tub. The yummy food and Caroline’s adorable cupcakes were presented on our vintage serving dishes and the party commenced.

In traditional baby shower fashion, we ate, chatted, and laughed – a bunch! We also loved playing Amanda’s party games – Baby Bottle Scratch-Offs, Price is Right Baby Shopping List, and Don’t Say Baby – before ooohing and ahhhing over the darling baby gifts. Needless to say, a good time was had by all.

Now we wait for the babies to arrive and we are all so excited to meet them.

This week we received more good news! Cheryl-Ann Kast’s beautifully styled shoot, An Ivy-Covered Natural Style Inspiration Shoot, was recently featured in Love Inc Magazine.

Set at the The Parlour at Manns Chapel, an “utterly unique” new venue in Chapel Hill, this natural themed shoot celebrates the equality of love. Southern Vintage Table Event – Styled Shoot Featured in StyleMePretty!

Get ready for some incredibly beautiful photographs from this breath-taking styled shoot recently featured in the prestigious StyleMePretty Wedding Blog. Equestrian Meets French Wedding Inspiration was designed by Kaitlin Holland, owner of The School of Styling, and photographed by Katelyn James.

Many different vendors contributed to this lovely undertaking and we provided the vintage white dinner plates, silver-plated flatware, napkins, and pink goblets. Aren’t they stunning on the table? Southern Vintage Table Event – “Recipe for Love” at The Royal Banquet

Last month we received some terrific news – a styled shoot orchestrated by Amy Wurster of Knots ‘N Such and Stephen Thrift Photography was featured on Artfully Wed, a prestigious wedding blog. The “Recipe for Love” shoot was designed to showcase a former bread factory in Raleigh, The Royal Banquet. To complement this baking theme and the venue’s historical past, Southern Vintage Table’s contribution was some of our wonderful vintage kitchen items.
