Call us crazy, nutty, or gluttons for punishment, whatever you’d like, but we are doing it. This month Southern Vintage Table, with its thousands of vintage plates, goblets, dishes, and decor pieces, is moving to a new location. Yippee!
It’s an extraordinary task but we are making great progress with Annie and Hannah’s packing talents. Shelves are emptying, crates filled, and stacks piling up for the professional movers. The dishwasher has already been transported and, by the end of this month, everything else will follow.
We eagerly await filling up the rooms at the new space inside Boone Square. The walls are being painted sage green, countertops installed in the dishwashing room, and fixtures replaced in the main room. Are we excited? You bet!
Dana and Ryan’s wedding day was truly idyllic – beautiful Carolina blue skies, kind temperatures, and a picturesque private retreat, the Rigmor House. We distinctly remember driving up to the venue and thinking that the day was North Carolina perfect.
The ceremony took place outside amongst the lush green landscape and the reception was inside the house. Donned with dark blue linens, the table settings included our vintage blue and white dinner plates, salad plates, napkins, and multicolored, jewel-toned goblets. Oftentimes detail items are requested, such as this easel with the seating chart and the silver trays for the appetizers. We love how they look!
One other note – our clients wanted to present their tables with the entire setting. Since it was a plated dinner, during the ceremony and appetizers, the caterer picked up the plates and plated the salad. When guests arrived for the meal, salads were ready to be enjoyed.

Yes, we adore lots of color, grandiose centerpieces, and, of course, vintage. However, we also appreciate beauty, elegance, and the clean simplicity seen in these photos captured by Kiley Gaston Photography. Suzanne and Wade’s wedding was such a treat for us! First, our design meeting at our studio with Suzanne and Morgan of West Queen Studios was both delightful and productive. We created a mock table with vintage white and cream plates with gold embellishments, added an array of vintage purple goblets, and finished it off with the vintage gold flatware. Voila! Second, with additional vintage items, our vintage presence was felt at cocktail time, the main meal, and dessert time. The cocktail tables were dressed with florals and votives on our vintage dresser mirror. The beautiful dessert table included our vintage dessert plates and a cake stand. And, as a special touch for their guests, a finger bowl (aka small vintage compote) was included at each guest’s place setting.
Lastly, we loved that the venue was in our home town of Hillsborough at the historic Colonial Inn. Many locals, including moi, were ecstatic when the inn was renovated after years of disrepair. This was our first wedding here and hope we have the pleasure of helping with many more!

We have a confession to share – the boho style is our very favorite! Color, eclectic mixes of plates, glassware, vases, and bold create the most fun tablescape, in our most humble opinion. 🙂 Today’s post exemplifies this style in so many ways and totally fulfills the meaning of fun!
Our contributions to this styled shoot, designed and planned by An Event to Remember, are the eclectic mix of vintage candleholders, colored goblets, cake tin, decanter, and champagne coupes. In the protected forest at the Timberlake Earth Sanctuary, amongst nature, family, and friends, Meghan and Tyler were married. Their wedding landscape, filled with a palette of soft, deep-hued fall colors, was enchantingly eclectic and charmingly romantic. These photographs from Karena Schroeder beautifully portray this wondrous wedding in the woods.
The couple wanted a wedding that was unique and creative with a “casual 70s vibe” and we knew that our vintage retro bold patterns would fit their vision. In designing the tables, plates in 4 color families were chosen – blue, yellow, green, and brown. Coordinating with these, we selected colored goblets in the same numbers. The “coupe de gras” were the different patterned napkins – we simply love how they look! To make sure they could be easily matched with the plates, we bundled them by color, as seen below. The final pieces from our vintage collections were a mix of stainless flatware and assorted heights of brass candleholders as table decor.

Ambers, burnt orange, browns, gold, creams and white – soft, organic, fall hues – were beautifully woven together to create this lovely boho vision for Allyson and Bryce’s fall wedding. The setting was The Parlour at Mann’s Chapel and these artful images come to you via the talented Long Yau. The end result was serene, enchanting, and so very romantic!
Allyson, the stunning bride and designer of this vision, created the dried floral bouquets and provided the runners, chargers, and flatware. For their guest tables, we brought our vintage white stoneware, amber goblets, votives, and brass candleholders. They also chose our vintage mixed and matched cream napkins with vintage brass napkins rings. Beautiful!
Their boho dessert table design included our vintage tiered stands, platters, and white and gold dessert plates. Those donuts look especially elegant and delicious!

Wonder why so many couples wish to get married in the fall? The tribe of loved ones under this glorious tree in early November reveals one reason – nature’s beautiful fall colors provide an amazing backdrop for this very special day!
The site of this sweet wedding was Highrock Farms in Oxford, NC. This was our first visit to this farm venue and we were captivated by the open fields, historic barns, and the rustic, homey reception hall. Being our first visit to this lovely place, we archived these photos of the front gate and reception building for this blog post. Caroline adores vintage as much as we do and she envisioned her reception tables with a lovely mix of vintage china patterns, vintage colored goblets, and vintage flatware. We distinctly remember the day she and her mother visited the studio. When the final design came together, Caroline radiated pure joy. We all knew this was going to be a magical day for everyone.

This fall we traveled to several venues for the first time and one of them was The Meadows at Firefly Farm Preserve in Raleigh. We distinctly recall how we felt that day – it was such a glorious, peaceful day we paused for several moments to absorb the beauty that surrounded us. What a wonderful place for Jeri-lynn an Paul to get married!
Jeri-lynn and Anessa, owner of Harmony Weddingsand Events, visited our studio months before the wedding day. Using vintage was important to Jeri-lynn and together they chose vintage place settings and an array of brass candleholders, bar glasses, and dessert serving pieces.
When these photos by Joanna Sue Photography came in, we were elated. The tables with vintage white/cream plates trimmed in gold, the vintage gold flatware, and vintage amber goblets perfectly suited this pastoral environment. One of our favorite details is the different colored and textured candles on our vintage brass candleholders.
The bar was stocked with vintage textured tumblers (once filled with jelly), vintage low compotes, and vintage clear goblets. Don’t they look cool?
Finally, the ingenious display of desserts on an assortment of vintage pieces was fabulous! Our vintage stands, boxes, and dessert plates were selected by Jeri-lynn – so terrific and eclectic!
