Vintage Feature – We’re Back to our Sunday Blogging!

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

Hey all!  August is here and we’ve got lots to share from our July hiatus. As mentioned in our last post, we had three goals to accomplish. First, we tackled all the paper work stuff including updating our business spreadsheets. Phew! The more difficult task, curating our collection, has begun but there’s still more to do. It’s hard to give up a vintage treasure!

Of course, finding and adding new items to our vintage collections is always fun! We now have a vintage milk glass punch bowl, some new vintage teapots and teacups, and more patterns of vintage plates. New napkins have been fashioned from thrift store fabrics and we’ve also found a few to add to our printed napkin collection.

Inside the studio, our quest for organization continues. Two additional dressers have linens in their drawers, two new lights hang overhead, and several shelves reorganized. Our favorite addition to the studio is this terrific 1950s kitchen cart that now provides much needed surface space in our work area.

It’s good to set focused goals and, even if we fell a little short, much has been accomplished this month. As a result, we’re even more ready for the busy fall wedding season ahead and have a few open 2018 dates and are scheduling clients for 2019. Send us an email from our contact page or give us a call. We’d love to help!

Vintage Feature – It’s Blog Break Month!

We won’t be publishing our Sunday blog post during July but we have much to do. The list is a bit tedious –sigh- but nonetheless; it will feel good to mark them off the list, especially the first two.

!.  Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork. Oh boy, the pile is deep and we need to get our orders and contracts organized in our notebook.

2. Update spreadsheets. Business goals need to be evaluated and expenses organized. Yay!

3. Curate inventory. After spending this past year in our studio space, we now have a better notion of items that clients want for their event. This task will be hard for a different reason – we love everything and hate to let anything go. We hope it won’t be too traumatic!

So, that’s the July to-do list. Look for our next post on August 5th. We still will be serving clients and taking studio appointments so don’t hesitate to give us a call or send an email! We’ll love to hear from you!

Southern Vintage Table Event – Beautiful Vintage Blue

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

As this week’s mailbox confirmed, one of our most popular rentals at Southern Vintage Table is our vintage blue goblets . Two of our clients shared photos from their blue-themed weddings; one was held indoors and the other was an outdoor celebration with the color blue taking center stage.

The first set of photos are from a March wedding at The Barn of Chapel Hill, shared by F8 Photo Studios. We love how our vintage blue glassware “pops” on Rochelle and Chris’ reception tables, designed by Kast Events & Company. And that photo from above of the single table? Wow.

Our second blue wedding was held in Whitsett at the Timberlake Earth Sanctuary, a unique outdoor venue “dedicated to honoring and protecting Mother Earth and all beings.”  Emma and Jonathan designed their place settings with our classic vintage blue & white china, blue goblets, and stainless flatware. As you can see from Photography by Kelsey Rae‘s photos, this wedding seemed right at home with its serene surroundings.

Love blue as much as we do?  Our vintage offerings may be exactly what you want for your next celebration!

Southern Vintage Table Event – A Bridal Shower, Wedding Reception, & Tea Party

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

After a two-weddings’ weekend, this weekend’s events were a little-bit-of-this and a little-bit-of-that – a bridal shower, a wedding reception, and a tea party! As you might guess, it was busy, busy in the studio – washing the dishes from last weekend and then preparing for the three events and their pickups. Thankfully, Priscilla came over and helped get things organized and ready.

The stainless vintage flatware seen above was for Emma and Jonathan’s wedding reception. Don’t you love the variety and details? These went with our blue and white china, light blue goblets and a few milk glass accents. Looking forward to seeing these photos!

The second event was a dinner party/bridal shower. Susan chose our vintage elegant china dinner plates eclectically matched with salad plates, a mix of teal, amber, and pink goblets, and vintage silver-plate flatware. With an Italian feast on the menu, the guests are being treated to a grand party!

The third event is happening today – a mother-daughter tea party for almost 200 guests at the Mims House. With our vintage teapots, teacups, and tiered stands, this fundraiser affair is sure to be a crowd pleaser. The proceeds are going to help a group of talented dancers from the Holly Springs Ballet School participate in the Macy’s Christmas Parade. We hope they get closer to their goal after this weekend!

Sharing our vintage treasures is such a joy for us and we love seeing photos and hearing about all the details. Let us help you with your next party, dinner, reception, or gathering!

Southern Vintage Table Event – Rolesville Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Dinner

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

Last Thursday evening at The Mill Room at the Factory in Wake Forest a group of business leaders from the Rolesville Chamber of Commerce gathered together for their annual awards dinner.  It was a busy, fun evening for everyone – silent raffles, music by the Rolesville High Orchestra, speeches, awards, recognition of the members of the Youth Leadership, and, of course, a delicious meal provided by Cannon Catering.

Rolesville Chamber of Commerce

We were so excited to provide our vintage guest place settings for this fun affair and thrilled to collaborate with Flower Creations Rolesville. Heather filled our vintage silver-plate teapots, creamers, and petite vases to create a beautiful arrangements for the guest tables.

Vintage Feature – We’ve Gone “Pro” on Wedding Wire

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

After years of taking advantage of their complimentary subscription, we decided to go “pro” with  WeddingWire, an online community of incredible professional vendors. Our once-limited presence has been updated and embellished with a variety of photo albums (which are still under construction) as well as a pricing list for prospective clients. Most importantly, we are oh-so pleased and grateful to share our client reviews as part of our WeddingWire listing.

Take a tour of our WW storefront- we’ll be most appreciative of your time! Our listing can be found under the category, Event Rentals and Photobooths, or you can search for our name under Vendor Listing.

PS – We also are excited to be featured on their sister sites, GayWeddings, and EventWire. Take a peek there, too!

Vintage Tip – Repurposing Vintage into Storage

Southern Vintage Table

After moving to our studio almost a year ago, we were psyched about the seemingly endless space to store and showcase our vintage collections. Open floor space was quickly covered with rows of shelves and, licketly-split, empty shelves were filled with candleholders, plates, goblets, and all sorts of vintage treasures. It didn’t take long before we needed to creatively invent space where there was none!

Our three vintage trunks became our first creative storage solution. To make room on a section of shelves, we removed all but a few mason jars and placed the rest in two trunks. The trunks were then stacked on top of each other and the top trunk became the perfect place to display our many frames.  It also looks pretty cool, huh?

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

We found a old heavy-duty file cabinet for almost nothing ($2.99!). Now filed away in each of the drawers are tablecloths. See that adorable pink dresser?  Those drawers are filled with small bowls and dessert compotes.

Southern Vintage Table

With our 400+ vintage dessert plates, it became difficult to see all of the sweet patterns when stacked up and keeping the metal trays neatly displayed was nearly impossible. The solution? Dresser drawers! Now we can easily select the perfect dessert plate or metal tray!

Southern Vintage Table

Our favorite storage solution is these trio of old-school office supplies. Inside the green filing cabinet are vintage doilies and the brown magazine file drawers are filled with small silver-plate trays. The metal file dividers now display trays of all sorts!

Come visit us at our studio! Available by appointment, we’ll meet you at the door and even open a few drawers!
