Southern Vintage Table Events – Kacie & Greg’s Family-Style Reception

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

We are so excited to share photos from Kacie and Greg’s wedding last fall! Captured by Blended Light Photography, these stunning pictures tell the story of their beautiful wedding and reception at The Parlour at Mann’s Chapel.

With the dark wood of the farm tables as the backdrop, the couple selected our blue and white china mixed with white stoneware. Clear vintage water goblets, silver-plated flatware, and vintage white napkins completed each guest place setting. The result was romantic, timeless, and cozy – perfect for their family-style gathering.

Their guests were treated to a traditional Thanksgiving dinner prepared by City BBQ. With our vintage platters and bowls filled with turkey, salad, collard greens, and corn bread pudding, guests felt right at home serving themselves and passing down the scrumptious food.

After the yummy meal, sweet treats of all kinds were presented on this beautiful dessert table. Styled with our stands and platters, the dessert table looked simply divine!

Southern Vintage Table Events – The Eve Before the Wedding

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

We are reminiscing about our first client visit at the studio last year. Chris and Rebecca traveled from Virginia to see how our blue and white dishware might be featured at their rehearsal dinner in Edenton, Rebecca’s home town. The dinner, on the eve of their wedding, was to be held at the Historic 1767 Chowan Courthouse, a National Historic Landmark, and they wanted the look to complement this lovely space.

After chatting with them about their vision, a tablescape with blue and white dinner plates, silver-plated flatware and bold colored goblets came into focus. Simple bouquets in vintage milk glass vases and table numbers in vintage photo frames completed their look. Please enjoy their beautiful tables befitting this treasured historic landmark with these photographs taken by the very talented Katherine Miles Jones.

Southern Vintage Table Event – Thanksgiving Tablescapes

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

Our favorite holiday is coming up – Thanksgiving! This day has always been special for the Bass/Heath/Roberson family because uncles, aunts, grandparents, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, close and afar, get together to share a traditional Southern Thanksgiving meal. We line the buffet table with favorite dishes, like turkey, dressing, collard greens, deviled eggs, chocolate eclair cake, and, of course, Sandy’s famous mashed potatoes.

The feasting place has changed over the decades though we have settled in the Masonic Lodge in Rolesville. In the past several years, Southern Vintage Table has joyfully set the tables and today we are sharing these tablescapes before next week’s post with this year’s design.

Come back next Sunday for our 2017 Thanksgiving table design. It will be colorful and fun – this we can promise – and hopefully, a new favorite.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Southern Vintage Table Event – Bass Family & Friends Thanksgiving Reunion

It was the perfect day for our annual Bass Family Reunion!  This wonderful tradition began in the mid-60s by Wiley and Susie Mae’s children – Christine, Aline, Weldon, and Wiley Jr – as a time set aside each Thanksgiving for the extended Bass family to share a meal and reconnect. Every year since, we have continued this tradition, and although many dear family members are no longer with us, we remember and honor them by being together.

For this year’s gathering, Southern Vintage Table set the tables with our vintage blue & white china patterns and amber glassware collection. Our mix of creamy-white table linens were covered with burlap runners and adorned with petite arrangements of greenery, votives, and pumpkins. Large bouquets, created by Rowena, were placed at the entrance table and on the food tables. (Many thanks to the setup crew – Sandy, Amanda, Travis, Allie, and Rowena!)

With the 60+ family members and friends bringing their favorite dishes for the buffet line, we enjoyed an incredible feast. (Just for the record, some of those dishes are assigned to certain chefs in the family because, we all know, they make the BEST … turkey & dressing, baked ham, mashed potatoes, collards, sweet potato casserole, chicken-n-dumplings, deviled eggs, chocolate eclair cake, coconut cake, carrot cake, and many more …)

For the newcomers, we loved seeing you and hope you’ll come again.  To the folks who were not able to make it, we missed you and hope to see you Thanksgiving 2016!  As shared in our previous post from Thanksgiving 2013, “once again, the Bass Family came together on Thanksgiving.  We hugged, we feasted, and we parted, feeling content and connected.”

PS – We must remember to get a group photo next year!  Now, who will be in charge?  (Insert smiley/winky face here…)
