Vintage Adventures – New Thrift Store Treasures at SVT

Vintage Dusky Blue Goblets

SVT has been in a busy, busy stretch with events and client meetings and in-between, we’ve been “procuring inventory, ” which is the fancy term for hitting the thrift stores. Hee hee! We thought you might want to see what we found these last two weeks. Although we can’t give away our secret places, we can say that these came from 4 of our favorite spots.

We mentioned these vintage dusky blue goblets in a recent Facebook post. It was a true vintage find – 9 total, 8 at one thrift shop and one more at another, all in the same day. This color is highly popular and we are so happy to add these to our collection!

These vintage silver-plated items are soooo nice! The compote needs a little polishing, but there are no dents nor pits. Imagine this filled with apples, lemons, or even a lovely floral bouquet! We love this unique flatware pattern, too. Found bagged up, when we got back to the studio we discovered that instead of stainless, it’s inlaid silver-plated. They will look terrific with our other vintage mixed patterns.

Perhaps the most atypical find were these vintage bobeches! These unique items are used to catch the wax from a taper candle. Some are plastic and some are glass but all are great to have in our inventory for someone looking to protect the surface under the candleholder.

You might think we found these two vintage tea pieces at the same place and time but that’s didn’t happen. They were at two separate thrift stores and found days apart but they do look so lovely together!

Finally, we came across these darling stoneware patterns. As vintage stoneware becomes more appreciated, we want to make certain we can accommodate our clients with enough for their guests!

Lastly, we’ve been contemplating our featured posts on Instagram and Facebook. Thanks to those who have chimed in – we hope to start soon!

Southern Vintage Table Event – Meet the Grandbaby !

Large or small, a gathering of friends and family is always memorable. This event was especially so because the family’s first grandchild was coming to visit her grandparents! Of course, folks wanted to meet this sweet little girl so grandmother Sherry and aunt Ashley hosted a ‘greet and meet’ Evie party. With vintage tiered and cake stands filled with scrumptious desserts, tea cups ready for coffee, and vases filled with flowers, the hosts were ready to greet their guests!

And, here she is! Cutie-pie Evie perched on her grandmother’s lap. Notice that her pink outfit matches her grandmother’s hair! How cool is that?

Southern Vintage Table Event – Tea in Wonderland Styled Shoot

Vintage Decor Rentals NC

The Tea in Wonderland styled shoot, creatively orchestrated by Stephanie of Beauty and The Budget Events and Ariel Kaitlin Photography, is colorful, playful, and truly delightful! We loved seeing Ariel’s photos as did the editors of The Carolinas Magazine because they chose this shoot to be featured in their magazine!

With this publication, The Beauty and the Budget’s blog post, a video by Jared Cook’s Films, and Revelry + Heart’s behind-the-scenes video, you will enjoy this shoot from multiple perspectives. Today’s post will focus on Southern Vintage Table’s vintage decor items and vintage tableware chosen by Stephanie for the shoot.

When Stephanie contacted us, we invited her to visit our studio to “go shopping” for the vintage pieces she’d like to use. We love seeing how our vintage decor is sprinkled in these photos and are thrilled to share them with you!

Vintage Feature – Jenn & Teague’s Wedding is on Chic Vintage Brides!

Southern Vintage Table Vintage China Rental NC

We received some most exciting news this week from Erica of Folie à Deux Events! Jenn & Teague’s wedding has been featured on Chic Vintage Brides!

Beautifully captured by Rebekah Senter Photography, “An Earthy Yet Elegant Rustic Wedding at Rigmor House,” describes Jenn & Teague’s wedding day along with the preparations leading up to their nuptials. As you read along and view the photos, you’ll feel like you were there, enjoying the day alongside everyone. Don’t miss out on Jenn & Teague’s interview questions about their experience with the planning process.

Our part in their wedding was to provide tea accessories for the afternoon tea.  Here’s how Jenn  and Teague described their reception.

“We chose to do the reception in a British afternoon tea style, as we love having afternoon tea and wanted to share it with our family and friends! Jenn used to live in the UK when she studied modern and medieval Welsh (Celtic) literature and language at Bangor University in North Wales. Because of Jenn’s love of Celtic history (she’s a redhead after all!), we also integrated little touches of Welsh, Irish, and Scottish traditions into our wedding day and décor.

For the afternoon tea dishes and cutlery, we were very lucky to have Southern Vintage Table in the Chapel Hill area. Shelly, the owner, provided us with a gorgeous array of blue-and-white plates and porcelain tea sets, silver-plated cutlery, and other key serviceware items we needed for our afternoon tea reception. She even helped with dressing the tables and wow, the end result was more stunning than I imagined!”

Okay, we are beaming after reading this!
