Vintage Cake Stands

News – Vintage Glass Gorgeousness

All of the boxes in the main room have been unpacked! Yay! These beautiful pieces of vintage glassware were in some of the final crates and we love this colorful display in the middle of the room. Also unpacked and on the shelves are the vintage salad and dessert plates and cake stands. The styling tables will be moved in this week and we’ll be ready for our first set of clients.

Progress was made in the decor room, too. With help from Janis, we moved the tables and set up shelves to be filled with our vintage milk glass, candleholders, blue and white decor, and wooden items. Can’t wait to get this room all set up!

News – More Space in our New Space!

It’s the end of week 3 at our new location at Boone Center and floor space is finally opening up! With a plan in place, our vintage plates are getting sorted and stacked on the shelves. Teacups have been matched with their saucers, extra saucers packed in bins, and the last of the goblets unpacked.

In the second main room, the wall of shelving is almost complete, extra crates placed on top, and suitcases displayed. Yep, the floor is clearing up here, too!

Our goals this week include unpacking the rest of containers and moving the tables and chairs into the main room. We also need to clear out the foyer so the floors can be redone. Fingers crossed because we have booked over 10 events May!

News – Shelves are Filling Up!

It’s now the end of week 2 at our new space at Boone Square. Aisles are opening up, boxes and paper recycled, and plastic crates given away. Our focus has turned to the vintage plate collections. Making decisions regarding a natural flow has been a challenge and we have already changed the design plan several times. Fingers crossed that we have enough shelves for our extensive inventory!

With Priscilla’s help, the middle room has started to take shape. Together we rearranged the shelves under the countertop, moved the tables from the wall to the center, and cleared a space for a set of shelves to be installed. When they are up, our vintage decor room can finally be organized.

Looking through the hallway window, we are feeling quite accomplished. The new Southern Vintage Table studio is shaping up! Can’t wait to see through this window next week when all of those crates are gone and replaced with these two tables.

News – Out and In

Yep, we are out of our previous studio space at the Colonial Business Center and now in our new digs at Suite 14 in the Boone Square. The space is larger, freshly painted, and now filled with boxes and crates packed with our vintage goblets, plates, linens, flatware, and decor.

Our first task was to fill the glassware shelves. After stringing lights, hunting for the crates that contained the goblets, and placing them on the shelves, the vintage glassware collection began to emerge. Here’s our progress after the last two days.

Next, we’ll decide where the vintage plate collections will land, find the crates, and unpack them. Fingers crossed we have enough shelves for the hundreds of dinner, salad, and dessert dishes. We do plan to count them all when we are finished, a long overdue task.

Shout out to the positive, hardworking, supportive teamwork of Dustin, JJ, Mark, and Antonio of Wayforth for doing such an incredible job moving our delicate inventory. They were awesome along with dear friend, Priscilla. We couldn’t have done this without all of you!

Lastly, many thanks to Jay, Sam, and Dink for getting everything ready for us at Suite 14. We appreciate you, too!

The Captain is waiting patiently for her new home to be ready!

Pink and Yellow Vintage Tablescape

Styled Shoot – More Magnificence at the Maxwell

We are back with the remaining images from the incredible styled shoot at the Maxwell, planned by @jillianroseevents and photographed by @cirque91photo. Last week we featured the two splendid speciality tables – the sweetheart and dessert table. Today’s photos are all about the guest tables which we adore!

With these stunning pink and yellow florals by @blossombettys, our vintage retro yellow plates, amber goblets, and gold flatware create the most cheerful spring tablescape! Notice how our flower-filled vintage amber compotes, brass pillar candle holders, and mini brass vases were layered down the table. Can you imagine yourself sitting here as a guest with all this loveliness in front of you?

Bravo, team! What a pleasure meeting and working with you all!

Styled Shoot – Magnificence at the Maxwell

First, here’s an update on our studio move to Boone Square. Most of our vintage dishes and goblets are safely wrapped and placed in crates. It’s a maze getting through all the stacks! Our challenge this final week is packing cake stands and serving dishes and finishing the decor and work rooms. After standing for hours at a time, we are grateful for our very unstylish orthopedic shoes.

Moving to a new location is exciting but having beautiful photos to share is also awesome. We are proud to share the work of a talented team of vendors with this styled shoot at the Maxwell.

Spring’s splendor was on full display at the Maxwell last month at this styled shoot designed and planned by Jillian Rose Events and photographed by Cirque91 Photography. Seeing our vintage goblets on the table is always delightful but the star of this shot are those gorgeous, lush florals. These creations are the work of the talented Blossom Bettys and we were awestruck by their magnificence.

Cirque91 provided so many incredible images from this shoot we’ve decided to spread them out over two blog posts. Today’s post are lovelies from the sweetheart and cake tables. As much as the florals are amazing, Sweet Haven Bakery‘s cake is a showstopper. Atop of our vintage milk glass cake stand, we hear it was as delicious as it looks. We think our vintage gold flatware and retro dessert plates look pretty sweet, too.

Cake on Vintage Plate

Next week we’ll share the vintage table settings – our favorite color, yellow, is the star!

Vintage Blue and White Place Settings

Southern Vintage Events – A Vibrant Blue and White Wedding

Dana and Ryan’s wedding day was truly idyllic – beautiful Carolina blue skies, kind temperatures, and a picturesque private retreat, the Rigmor House. We distinctly remember driving up to the venue and thinking that the day was North Carolina perfect.

The ceremony took place outside amongst the lush green landscape and the reception was inside the house. Donned with dark blue linens, the table settings included our vintage blue and white dinner plates, salad plates, napkins, and multicolored, jewel-toned goblets. With the sunshine pouring in, the celebration space was alit with color and beauty. Courtesy of Three Region Photography, you’ll get a peek at these lovely tables.

Oftentimes detail items are requested, such as this easel with the seating chart and the silver trays for the appetizers. We love how they look!

One other note – our clients wanted to present their tables with the entire setting. Since it was a plated dinner, during the ceremony and appetizers, the caterer picked up the plates and plated the salad. When guests arrived for the meal, salads were ready to be enjoyed.

Bravo, Dana and Ryan! Your day was beautiful, colorful, and delightful. We loved being a part of your celebration and send wishes of love, joy, and adventure!

Southern Vintage Table Events – A Family Farm Wedding

Yes, we adore lots of color, grandiose centerpieces, and, of course, vintage. However, we also appreciate beauty, elegance, and the clean simplicity seen in these photos captured by Kiley Gaston Photography. Sarah and Landon’s touch of vintage came through our vintage clear goblets and everything is stunning!

Bravo, Sarah and Landon! With your friends and family, we send best wishes for love, happiness, and lots of sweet smiles!

Southern Vintage Table Event – Elegant Nuptials at the Colonial Inn

Suzanne and Wade’s wedding was such a treat for us! First, our design meeting at our studio with Suzanne and Morgan of West Queen Studios was both delightful and productive. We created a mock table with vintage white and cream plates with gold embellishments, added an array of vintage purple goblets, and finished it off with the vintage gold flatware. Voila! Suzanne and Wade’s reception tables materialized. (Photos by Griffin Hart Davis)

Second, with additional vintage items, our vintage presence was felt at cocktail time, the main meal, and dessert time. The cocktail tables were dressed with florals and votives on our vintage dresser mirror. The beautiful dessert table included our vintage dessert plates and a cake stand. And, as a special touch for their guests, a finger bowl (aka small vintage compote) was included at each guest’s place setting.

Lastly, we loved that the venue was in our home town of Hillsborough at the historic Colonial Inn. Many locals, including moi, were ecstatic when the inn was renovated after years of disrepair. This was our first wedding here and hope we have the pleasure of helping with many more!

Beautiful day, venue, and couple! We are sincerely appreciative to have been a part of your wedding day, Suzanne and Wade. Best wishes for much happiness, fun, and adventures!
