When renting our vintage wares, you can be assured that we want you to have the very best experience. Each and every client is valued and appreciated, and we truly love sharing our collections! So, how does it all happen once an order is placed? Today we are taking you behind-the-scenes to show you how it’s done!

This upcoming weekend we are providing place settings for 175 guests at Katie and Evan’s wedding in Raleigh. We are packing dinner, salad, and dessert plates along with flatware, goblets, and napkins. Yep, it’s huge and thus, our packing schedule began a week ago.

We started with the vintage goblets. Crates were filled with green, amber, teal, pink, and blue goblets then run through our commercial dishwasher. Once dried, they were labeled, wrapped in plastic, and stacked on a dolly. That’s 7 crates, stacked up, and yep, it’s taller than me!

Next up, the flatware settings. Inside these bins are 175 silver-plated knives, dinner forks, salad forks, spoons, and dessert forks. Believe me, these babies are heavy!

Dessert plates came next. Racks were filled with a good mix of vintage patterns, then washed, labeled, wrapped, and stacked.

Meanwhile, vintage white/cream napkins were selected and ironed at home. We only have 75 more to go!

The final packing job is the mixing and matching of the vintage dinner and salad plates. Using a kitchen cart, we rolled down the dinner plate aisle and filled a crate with a 20 vintage plates in a variety of floral patterns. Then we rolled back to our worktable filled with salad plates. One by one we matched a dinner plate with a salad plate. The filled crates then went through the dishwasher and were labeled, wrapped, and placed on a cart. At the time of this post, we have only two more dinner/salad crates of 20 left to do!

Once we finish packing the two sets of plates and ironing the remaining napkins, we’ll be ready for Saturday’s wedding. Priscilla, Jami, and Pat will join me to set beautiful, vintage place settings on rustic farm tables. Can’t wait to see how it all turns out!
